Ok guys, I have always wanted to try DAOC but never got around to it. Now that I have quit that horrid game of WOW, I feel now is the time to delve into something new. I have a few questions however....
1. I prefer playing a healer, will I be gimped if I choose this type of character in Daoc?
2. Is it easy to get into a guild? Or are most high-end guilds nearly impossible to get into?
3. How soloable is the content in Daoc?
Thanks for answering guys, cant wait to start playing!

Healers are everyone's best friend in DAOC. All 3 realms have 2 or 3 different types of healer class. And, no, you won't be gimped. You'll be loved
You *start* in a guild... if you decide to move to a 'real' guild that's not hard either. A lot of people just stay in the "newb" guild too.
You can solo all the way to 50 if you so desire. Grouping is a little faster at higher levels but you can easily solo to 50 if that's what you wanna do.

Like Elnator said there are numerous amounts of healer classes.
Not all are easily soloable. It really depends on which healing class you are playing and how you are speccing your character if you will find soloing to be a viable option or not. Either way like Elnator said healers are loved a whole lot and are always welcome in groups.
Everyone loves a healer. You start in a guild and getting into guilds should be easy most of the time. If you play a healer I am sure many will try to recruit you. Each realn has one primary healer and one or two backup healers.
Albion has:
Cleric
Friar
Heritic
Paladin (sort of but not really. Only has heal chant)
Midgard has:
Healers
Shamans
Skalds (another heal chant)
Valkerie (can raise the dead but that's it)
Hibernia has:
Druid
Bard
Warden (tank with healing powers and some other nice spells)
Mentalist (has small heal and heal over time)
The first ones listed at the primary healers of each realm and the next one is regarded as the back up healer.
Druids in my opinion have the best solo potential. You get a pet, snare, DoT, buffs, and heal. This allows you to solo well. Not great but better than the other ones. The downside is that you have so many things to train in as a druid that you will need to decide if you are going to spec for solo play or group.
