Playing AC1 now, considering getting EQ...

I'm playing Asheron's Call right now, which is an ageing game. Subscriber numbers are slowly but steadily falling. AC is dying.

How's the situation with Everquest? Do you still get newbies? Are there people in the towns? Is it, in short, worth getting? Or will I be hopelessly outclassed because everyone else has maxed out characters, their own circle of friends, and the best items?

I still find newbies in game.  Some of the zones are quieter these days with the release of the last few expansions but theres still peeps about.

  •  IMHO you should save your money and wait 6 more months then EverQuest 2 will be out.

AC is still a decent game. It is more of a skill based game instead  of a level based game. From my personal experiences, AC also has a much, much, much, nicer player community than EQ.

EQ is more of a level based game instead of a skill based game. Is EQ good? Read the Reviews about it on this site.

I do recommend you try the 1 free month trial period for EQ (if they still have it.).
