Really annoying techincal question

So, I'm wanting to play Eve with my friend, which works just fine for me, but he can't get anywhere past the damned pre-authentication handshake part of the login.  I've searched all over for the solution on the net, and no one seems to be able to help.  I had this problem before, but fixed it after updating my video stuff, but it's not the case for him. 

Instead, he just gave up and said, "let's just play wow instead," except I DON'T WANT TO PLAY WOW!  I mean, I'm really sick of grinding for that 10/10 Witherbark tusks or whatever the f!@# I need to get, whilst avoiding a bastard-like level 39 invisible horde shaman or whatever.  So, if anyone could help, perhaps MAYBE we could play EVE instead.  Thanks.

There are several possible reasons for this.

Try:

1.) Clear the cache folder
2.) Check Firewall Settings
3.) Reinstall EVE

If that doesnt work then I fear you have to turn to the support team.
