I tried my forum password, then past that login window. .... But got runtime error anyways.

    ok thx it worked...

to solve the run time error:

first i have installed those codecs posted in this thread

second i have deleted the dnl file (configuration)  in sog folder

but i cant login now, its only for pioneers not for settlers

  • MeMirthMeMirth Member Posts: 7

Hmm, thought I posted this but it put me back in Posting a Reply.

Your password is your DnL Forum password.

But it won't help you :( not until you have the Indio Codec and fix the other problems.

I am one of those without a dnl.ini, I've searched for it, made sure to show hidden, the works. Deleting the .cfg one had no effect as far as I could tell.

Anyone know where I can get a codec file that will work?  The one they give at indeo.ligos.com does not work.  I get this error...

    Temporary Difficulties

The Ligos Online Sales System is experiencing temporary difficulties.

DBD::mysql::st execute failed: Lost connectionto MySQL server during query at /export/domains/secure.ligos.com/lib/Ligos/CommerceDB.pmline 1244

You dont need the indeo codec to play the game it is only use to display the intro. For some reason XP left that codec out while the older versions of windows have it. Only problem you should focus on is deleting the Dnl.ini and dnl.cfg files, unless you want to see the 5 sec intro just saying Dark and light with the moon

    BOOYAKA!

Does anyone know how can I write my login name in block capitials?

I keep getting an error message that said "Login rejected : No such user"

    http://downloadfinder.intel.com/scripts-df/download.asp?url=/2846/eng/codinstl.exe&ProductID=355

This is the intel site with the codec.  Pretty simple download and install.  And free.

My file wasn't called dnl.ini.  It was DNL config, a wordpad doc with the yellow gear on it.  Moving this out of the launcher folder did the trick.

Before I start moving or deleting files, what I want to know is this...

Has any of this allowed you to play the game, or are you being disconnected in other ways now?

I appreciate all the hard work everyone is sharing here, but after downloading this game 3 times... I am not touching anything until I know this method does the trick.

    Angry --

Just do this, trust us.  If you read other posts, people are playing the game.  This is the correct fix.  Just move it to a safe location and start the launcher with the integrity check again.

Moving a file from the SOG folder to your desktop, will not damage anything, just move it back into the folder if you want to "restore" the installation.

Thank you both for the comforting words.

But if you saw the way I mangle files whenever I touch a folder, you would understand my hesitation...

Well, I've tried deleting the DnL.ini file...

    Nothing happened !

    Reinstalled SOG.exe...

    Nothing happened !

    reinstalled launcher...

    Nothing happened !

Every time the launcher tells me that the server is down....

port 20013 on my firewall is open, so that can't be the problem.

I'm about ready to give up on this bunch of crap...
