DNLg.exe deleting the .ini and .cfg doesnt work for me

Ok, I start the game, get past the check tried both doing with integrity check and without after deleting the files. Then I get to some accept page, I accept then its a page where u can choose display settings and login. I login, get the darkandlight logo video played, it changes to a new page and there it comes. Runtime error DNLg.exe bla bla... As I said I have tried deleting the .cfg and .ini file in SOG folder, but I still get to the same crash. Any suggestions?

Same problem here.  Tried everything with my uncle.  Compared all the launch files and DNLg files both.  ONly difference in our systems really is his is intel, mine AMD.  What is your processors, may not be working with AMD's.

I've been getting this problem too, as I mentioned in the "Server is up" thread. Everyone keeps shouting about the ini and cfg files, but they aren't fixing anything for me. I've also tried re-installing SoG, and I've tried it on all the engine modes and lighting modes.

EDIT: About the processors, that's not it. I have a Celeron.

Hmm...think the file itself is just corrupt? LOL I mean wth could it really be?

any of you download the Indeo Codecs? I downloaded it at http://www.free-codecs.com/Indeo_Codec_download.htm

heard that works for some people, for me though it didn't.

Same tried the Indeo 5.2 codec i believe it was...still no go...

I installed the Indeo codecs after the first time I tried SoG. I think I got them from the same site you mentioned.

I have installed the free Indeo codec, and it fixed the introvideo. It has nothing to do with the error that pops up later on. My processor is Intel to answer a former posters question.

I have seen screenshots from others getting loginerror. Its a runtime error thing. I get the normal windows xp crash errormessage, where I can choose "Send error report" or "Don't send". It says on top:

DnLg.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close.

    Bummer.

I moved DnLG.exe, dnl.ini and dnl.cfg out of the folder, to my Desktop and then reran the patcher with File Integrity Check on.  It fixed me.  I'd noticed that the DnLg.exe file kept downloading earlier today, so decided if it was failing the file check everytime, I'd just get rid of it and redownload it using the Patcher.

try to get new gfx drivers - in my case i did forget to do it after reinstalling windows, no problems after i got last one (nvidia in my case)

I crash out of the game every 10 minutes with the dnlg.exe error.

Read on another post that it's common error for ATI cards. I know that's what I got. Also run AMD. Wonder if not having the intel / nvidea combo causes problems for others?

AMD/nvidia combo. Same error here every 20-45 minutes. I've done all the recommended fixes with the exception of downloading new gfx drivers.

I thought you said you have a Radeon 7000 64 video card which is below the min requirements of the game....which could very well be causing your problems.

    Minimal configuration
OS: Windows 2000, XP, XP 64
CPU: Pentium IV 1.8 GHz or equivalent
    Memory: 512 MB RAM
Graphics Card: GeForce 4 or equivalent
    Sound Card: 16 bit
    Video Memory: 64 MB
    Disk Space: 2 GB
    Modem Speed: DSL
    Input Device: Mouse, Keyboard

^-Straight from the DnL website, specifically the SoG Features page. I'm not below the minimum video requirement, and even if that were the source of the problem you wouldn't have all these other people with x850s getting the same DnLg.exe error.
