In my opinion ALL new games, espcecially mmorpgs should be fully customisable, to allow the game to be played on many different set-ups. You should NOT have to type in commands to do this it should be through a clear consise UI. The UI should be fully customisable with 3rd party support for adding game extras, tools and different skins.
And a game should be easy to learn but hard to master. That is, at first, the game tells you ALL you need to know, where to get quests, buy gear, how to craft, what keys to press, how to adjust various settings. This should NOT be part of the learning curve. The learning curve should be in the gameplay. Where to hunt, quest later on, what gear to wear, weps to use. Learning advanced skills, fighting, crafting SHOULD part of the learning curve, and can be steep, but the basic elements should be easy to grasp, and not a matter of trial and error.
I think all games should be begin like WoW, but stop holding your hand past level 10 and become more like EQ.
