Only been playing the stress test for 4-5 hours and i'm already finding myself bored with that game. I dunno maybe it's just me but the slow gameplay is killing all the fun for me.
You go in a dungeon kill 1 mob, destroy some crates, open some door, oh look 1 more mob to kill, oh cool some more crates, a trap oh no, oh look another mob to kill, man this is slow and i'm not talking about the combat, swing, swing, swing, hit, swing, swing, swing dead mob, wow already ?
Anyway this is only my first impression after playing a few hours, but if i'm already yawning at my monitor at level 1 i can't imagine what is it gonna be later...

Wow, I swung by this forum expecting to see 20 threads post-Stress Test on how much DDO rocks/sucks etc, and this is the only one I can see.
I appreciate the thread Aguitha, as after downloading the 1.3gig DnL SoG files and scratching my eyes out for 15mins between crashes, I just don't have the heart for another 1.6gig download.
If you would like to expand on the game play in the same rational manner you started with, I would love to read it.
Questions:
Is it possibly slow because it's the 'beginner' quest? ie. newby island in EQ2 is very basic and simple, WoW lvl 1-5 is extreme basic etc. Same deal going on you think?
Do you only get the same quest each time you start a character? As in, you play 10 different characters and every single one does the exact same quest progression? On that, is it the full game you're playing, or is the Stress Test just a few elements put into a bundle do you know?
Is combat itself interesting? As this is key.
How does it look visually? Models nice? World detail?
I could go on. Would appreciate any rational feedback from whoever is trying it out.
Thanks Aguitha and anyone else who's up for contributing.

Oh. My. God.
I think the reason why there aren't that many threads is because it's still under NDA. That's kinda dumb for Turbine because people who have something negative to say about the game won't care about any NDA. Unless the moderators here start going all crazy and lock threads like they are doing on IGN.
But, ya, to answer one of your questions, everybody starts out in the same "noob" area and it's pretty static except that the beginner dungeons are instanced so that you can do them alone (they are for learning basics). I haven't gone further than that, so I don't know how the real ones are.

To partially answer another of your questions, about combat. I think melee combat is going to be really interesting. Technically you could just target, press auto-attack and wait 'til one of you dies, but what fun is that? You can manually swing, block and dodge. You literally can run up to a mob, take a swipe and roll backwards as he tries to hit you. There is definitely going to be a player skill component to this game.
