Where to buy a new old PS2

in Final Fantasy XI

So the new slim version of the PS2 doesn't work with the Playstation Hard Drive. Where can I buy a new PS2 but the old or um, "fat" version?

    I've seen them quite a few places, used.  Lots of them at my local Blockbuster for sale and quite a few at Electronics Boutique.  I'm sure if you looked on E-Bay you can find them, too.

    So it's official? I mean i looked to no avail but it's official you can't buy a NEW one in the older, thicker version? Who's brilliant idea was it to make the new one incompatible with the HD anyway?
    I really didn't want to buy a used one especially since the new ones are so cheap anyway and any used one is going to cost as much as a new one and some of the people have caught on to the HD incompatibility and sell the fat used ones for more.
