The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind...
All I have to say is...
HELL YEAH!!!!
Cartman has a big fat ass!
Woah!! Big question...
I'd have to say Command & Conquer. To make the best RTS of all time, with redefined controls/gameplay used this very day.
This game combines great graphics and sounds, with an original funny story, and all the most recent features that existed in that time. It made history!
Yeah... all the news games with the leet graphics might be fun and all, but there will never be such an innovative and funny game as command and conquer was...
Just thinking how good the game makes me shred a tear..
Perhaps petroglyph will change history

too big of a question to give just one answer. i'll have to break it down by genres.
Adventure/RPG: Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time
RTS: WarCraft III
FPS: Half Life 2
Schutzbar - Human Warrior - Windrunner Alliance - World of Warcraft
Nihilanth - Kerra Paladin - Blackburrow - EverQuest II
XBL Gamertag - Eagle15GT
Final Fantasy 6 all the way. I still play it when I can.
Though FF8 and DW3 tie for Second.

Yeah, Rikimaru that was also so cool. Gave it something speciel. Funny thing is, that most of the characters are actually just the team working on the game. I think it's pretty good for people who isn't educated as actors.
From god, to kane, to seth....
gotta play it again!

People who have to create conspiracy and hate threads to further a cause lacks in intellectual comprehension of diversity.
RPG:Kingdom Hearts
RTS:Warcraft III
MMORPG:World of Warcraft
FPS:Doom(first one)
Third person: Mercanaries
Platformer:Ratchet and Clank series
racing:Mario Kart series
misc.:Katamari damacy
action adventure:Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask
RPG: Baldurs Gate series.
RTS: Total Annihilation
MMORPG: Asherons Call 1.
Overall...Baldurs Gate II. Fun game, great story, awesome interaction.

yes finally someone said baulders gate.. awesome series
how about some old school
1. twisted metal 4
2. jet moto 2
3. sonic the hedgehog (genesis)
Planescape Torment
Fallout 1 & 2
River City Ransom
Zelda: Ocarina of time
Morrowind
Pokemon red (don't hurt me)
The Dark Queen of Krynn! (and death knight/champion which lead there)
I find it is cheesy to not even be allowed to put a second choice, like Baldur's GateII: Throne of Bhaal would be my second choice (and all the games that lead there). (I play it like a GBT, while most others game with a space bar option claiming they can be played GBT, I just can't, they doesn't have the GBT feeling...BGII always have that GBT feeling unless I choose to let my characters on rampage against easy foes to save time...so it was indeed, for me, GBT and the real time was only a time saver option to speed easy fights...I prolly can't play other games like a GBT because I don't understand the system as well, I dunno if a new player could just jump in and play BGII like a GBT...I am not sure at all it would be possible...but I am selfish and I was able to, so it was extremely nice)
Of course modern D&D games have very little in comon with those 2 masterpieces, which only make the masterpieces greaters IMO! If you tell me I have to pick in the last 2 years only, then it would be Civ IV and CoV in second...but only if I have to pick a recent game.

I have to agree with Baldur's Gate for RPG. (NWN a close second). I'd also have to throw in Civ 2. That game was another that, years ago, kept me up till the wee hours.
Pong wins my vote
