Are monks 2 expensive?

I've heard monks are VERY expensive at lower lvls and you need tons of gils to e considered " Not gimped" is this true? any good ways to make gil?

monks are cheap as hell

buy a pair of knuckles (cheap)

buy some light armor (cheap)

buy some dex rings (cheap)

u get the idea

once u hit lvl 40-45 or so things get a little pricey but nothin to bitch about
