Why Runescape dominates

Just to start it off i got the 2 finger typing going so if i put a word like this: ehad i mean head ok..

If you dont agree ill take the punishment u give me whatever its my opinion u can argue with.. and no im not a member on runescape and im only lvl 37 but had have previous accounts lol. and yes id love to take ur account lol.

anyways runescape dominates because it isnt a pre determined game.. otherwise u can do what u want when u want and where!!!! theres many places to go to do the thing you want like mining there not jsut one palce 2 mine many people play noob friendly! not everyone on the game is out there saying

ya give me your pass and receive 5mil!!!!!!! (damm u kalonline!!! and there lazy staff!!!)

cheap membership only 5$ pretty good and u dont jsut get alittle u get quite abit of stuff like over 50 quest more than 75% of the map special mini games castle wars!!!! and events !!!! plus it handles old computers and you dont have to download it!!! Runescape is the most hated game and most liked game... and if your to dumb to understand what that means ur a retard...

and you can make armor show special items off and its not a grinding game!!! where all you do is attack guys! (once again kalonline!!!!!!)

plus the staff might not be friendly but atleast they do there job!!!!

and i referred to kal online because there satff are so lazy and the gameplay is sooooboring but thats another game where alot of people like it and hate it lol...

sean_bee@hotmail.com there u can argue your point to me there or how bad my spelling is!!! or give me ur account.

What does runescape dominate exactly? All i know is a mmorpg that is free isnt brining in a lot of profit.

So... what does Runescape dominate again? Noobs?

Profit /= Number of Subscribers *Monthly Fee

Profit = (Number of Subscribers *Monthly Fee) - Costs (keeping up servers, paying employees etc.)

There are games out there that have 1+ million subscribers with around $15 monthly fee. So Runescape doesn't exactly dominate in that aspect, either. Hmmm.

Runescape is terrible! I used to play the game when I had AOL but once I got cable...goodbye! The graphics are crap, it's all solo playing. None of the game requires you to make friends and do things together everything is easy. The only time you need a friend is the wilderness which is probably the best part of that game. But the lack of items and skills makes the game very boring. Overall the game sucks but hey it's free or $5 so that's what you get.

It certainly doesnt dominate the MMORPG market, and it doesnt make anymoney so yea.. However, i doesnt suck. You dont have to download, and the gameplay is so-so. The skill system is pretty cool. THis is basically an MMO for the poor man who cant afford a good computer or good internet. There are ALOT of better games, but this is good for people who cant get any better...

    Am I ever wrong??

The reason RS has alot of players is becouse the learning curve is as flat as pancake(havent said that in a while ^^). You do not need to dl a client and its free.

so basicly all kiddies can play whereever, when ever, with whatever computer. And dont need to learn anything, just click on the mobs. for free.

I played Runscape for a week or so.

All it did was make me want to play UO again.

    ...and bleed from my eyes.

Its existence doesn't bother me. People are free to like it. My very young sister enjoys it quite a lot. I think she recently got off Neopets...

    But it is boring.

I'm not posting to say that. I am posting because there was something I found amusing.

"anyways runescape dominates because it isnt a pre determined game"

Yep. It is not predetermined. Neither is it getting anywhere. It is completely static.

It is the most referenced "horrible game" on Adellion forums, so in a sense, it does.

So I guess in the world of the Runescape fanboy 50,000 is greater than 5,000,000 (Amount of people paying for WoW)
  • OhlsOhls Member Posts: 25

aqctually Runescape has about 500.000 subscribed accounts accounts. and yes WoW does have 5.000.000 acocounts, but half of them are not active =P

  • KormacKormac Member Posts: 297

Mhm. That makes a big difference. Yet...

From 100 times as many subscribers to 5 times as many active accounts (disregarding the possibility that some Runescape accounts may also be also inactive).

I still don't see Runescape as dominating anything but the threads where these games are dissed. Well, I appreciate being there. I don't think there is a gentler start on MMORPGs for kids out there.

People who look for a meaning in the game form silly guilds... Some like to be good, so they form the guild that protects travelers from that "Stand and deliver" highwayman whom they can easily run away from if they cannot fight him.

I kinda liked the dwarf who approached me from nowhere while I was mining iron, though. It was nice of him to put a beer in my inventory. Appreciated.

2,500,000 is still greater than 500,000. Most people playing Runescape are kids, free stuff always gets the kids to come running.

runscapes pretty goood if u take the time to get to a high lv after that u can enjoy having all the money and killing weaker people in the wild

rs differently dominates and makes over 3 million a year(12x5=60x50 000 members) and they get more members every day

it could use with more improvements though make more intresting for the free players and not just members.

    otherwise its pretty good

Runescape is not bad compared to most MMORPG's out there that charge.  They don't hold you hand all the way through it either like a lot of MMORPG's which IMO makes it a lot better.  I played it for about a week and never went back.  If I remember right only like 3 people made the game.  At least it has pvp as well and looting.  They might not be charging as much but, they don't have a huge company that they have to pay hundreds of employees.  I wouldn't expect it to do as well as a game like WoW since it had games come out before it and a large company to advertise it.  But, for 3 people it is doing extremely well.

Runescape is soo bad I dont understand why people would pay to play that junk when you can play other online games that dont coast a monthley fee like Guild Wars.
