Some advice for CL40+

Well, last night I just finished the Legacy quest and almost hit 40th level. I was suprised that quest line took me so far, but thats probably due to the double exp we are getting over the holidays.

Anyway, I was so focused on that quest line, that right now I am at a bit of a loss as what to do now. I have spent all my time on Tattooine and Naboo, and these two worlds seem a bit low level for me now. Its a large galaxy, so I am asking for some advice as to where to go to quest/grind etc for around CL 40. Any info would be appreciated.

Keep in mind, I don't mind if I have to pick up RotW, I just haven't got around to that yet. As I am not sure around what CL you should be to start that expansion.

Thanks in advance for the responses.

To the smart ass flamers that I am sure will follow. Boo Hoo....I know you lost your game and you want me to quit like you did. Get lost. My sympathy for you has run its course, move on. I am enjoying this game for the moment, and just want some simple advice that actually pertains to playing the game. Not your sad story or your desire to vent your anger/frustration.

Thanks.

This post probably belongs in the skills board and not the general game discussion thread.

Also would it not be better to post this on the SOE board where you could find specific quests and legacy information? Maybe use that feature called "search" on the sony board and look for lvl 40 legacy quests.  Or you know just look at the stickied threads on the SOE forums.

On a personal note.  Calling out the people who dislike the game in such a way is unnecessary and only serves to further devalue your cause of being the "Reasonable" person just looking to enjoy the game.  Why would anyone flame you for posting a game question?

I personally don't care what you do.  I got 3 new games for christmas to enjoy all of which work better then swg.

Well now that you opened the can.......SWG has a forum for your questions as well or go buy the manual.  I'm sure you can get some help there without having to figure anything else while playing the game.  Besides, the game has been dumbed-down so much you gotta ask for help?  Jeez.....they get dumber by the subscription.

You might be right. Though I figured it was just general enough to belong here.
Also would it not be better to post this on the SOE board where you could find specific quests and legacy information? Maybe use that feature called "search" on the sony board and look for lvl 40 legacy quests.  Or you know just look at the stickied threads on the SOE forums.
I Have gone there and answered a few other questions I had. Pertaining to armor certifications, etc. However, I just don't like that forum's interface style. Its just a personal thing. So thought I would ask some people here.
On a personal note.  Calling out the people who dislike the game in such a way is unnecessary and only serves to further devalue your cause of being the "Reasonable" person just looking to enjoy the game.  Why would anyone flame you for posting a game question?
That's my point. No one SHOULD flame me for posting a game related questions such as this. But, trust me, with the attitude lately around here, it was coming had I or you not said something about it. Sad thing is, the flames are probably still coming. I wasn't calling anyone out. I was trying to "nip it in the bud", so to speak. I am just trying to enjoy the game, I am just getting tired of those trying to spoil it for others. Like those pretest yelling spammers in all the major cities, macroed to endlessly shout their whining protest. It gets old.
And I wasn't calling them out. I was asking them to refrain from using this post as another SOE/LA/SWG bash thread.
I personally don't care what you do.  I got 3 new games for christmas to enjoy all of which work better then swg.

Cool, if you are someone who has moved on, I am sorry the game changed in such a way as you find it unplayable, but at least you moved on. What games did you get for Christmas?

I am aware of the SWG forums, thank you though. As for these forums, I was unaware that we could not use this place as a possible rescource as well.

As to the game being dumb down. Don't make me laugh. No MMORPG is rocket science. I played SWG before the NGE and it wasn't any "harder".

But nice little flame you worked in there, thanks for proving my point.

I have noticed, that no one has actually answered the question. I didn't think it was that hard of one to answer. I know there are many vets on this board, and I figured, regardless if you like the game or not, that you could at least answer the question.

    Maybe I expect too much.

Not that you expect much.....not much answer to the question you posed.  It was the flame you opened up with.  Maybe one of us would have offered some advice but unlikely with the comment you made at the bottom of your original post.  I'm not a hater, just don't like the immature responses from children who post when mommy is doing the dishes or cooking dinner...That's all.  Play all you want.  Enjoy it.  True, SWG wasn't any more difficult pre NGE.  I know guys who made jedi in a few weeks afk grinding on Kaash pre NGE.  Wow!  That takes skill.  Pre Cu and the Holo grind (before the village for you noobs).....now that took time and some amount of thinking.   But save the hate.  The vets are tired of hearing it just as the noobs are tired of hearing the rants.  But I really don't think the noobs hear it because they, like the vets, are trying to figure out the game as we did when we started.  They are not here trolling and flaming for SOE.

Is the above highlighted in red aimed at me? Cause I assure you, I am not that. I am at work, with a little downtime.

Thought I would get some suggestions as what's fun and viable to level around CL40. I enjoy these forums, and respect many of its members. I thought it would be a good place to get some suggestions. Apparently not.

The end part of my original post, just take a look at the BULK of the other threads in the SWG forums. Its a friggin war out there, of noobs and vets flinging their crap at each other. I will not appolgize for what I said, and I believe it was warrented in that I just wanted the question answered and I didn't want it hijacked, or to see a bunch of "suggestions" to quit, or worse, at CL40.

As I said before, it was probably to much to ask for. Maybe in the end I managed to hijack my own thread, because of those disinfranchized with this game are still too sensitive. Even to just answer a question or keep out of it if they couldn't say anything constructive.

Not necessarily directed toward you.  Like you, I grew tired of the endless flames against the vets.  If it weren't for the vets, the game wouldn't exist. PERIOD.  Therefore when I read posts like how you ended yours, I feel it's an attack.  That's what keeps eveyone at each other's throats.  A legit question will not get flamed.  But an attack will.  No need for apologies from you.  I am not asking for one nor would I expect it.  You have you're opinion formed from what you see but adding insult only instills more flaming.  If you're on Kettemoor, ask for Zaxx.  I'm sure he can help you or point you in the right direction.  Otherwise there are galaxy forums on SWG where fellow galaxians would be more than happy to help out........A chance to actually see someone on-line or group with.

    A few comments:

I am absolutely sure the OP would have gotten all kinds of posts about how he should just leave this game, and how SOE doesn't care about you. Then I would have come and argued with people saying LucasArts is just as much at fault etc. etc. He stated up front that isn't what he was looking for. Sure he could have worded it differently, but questions like this have in the past degenerated into this, so I doubt this one would have been any different.

Now you say the game hasn't gotten any easier: From a combat perspective, you MAY be right. I haven't played the NGE long enough to know if the intricacies like Food,  and armor selection are still there, but from a crafter standpoint, this game went from MIT down to Kindergarden.

Now about the original question: Really I think you're screwed. There may be some 40 level mobs on Lok or Endor. Dantooine probably has some, take some missions and you'll get spawns your level. What I really recommend however, is going to space. I've heard there is a patch that makes space combat give equal amount of ground combat XP. If that patch is live right now, with the double XP, head to space.

I would reccomend against doing Storm Squadron as that's the harderst, but I've pretty solo'd ever other squadron to 4/4/4/4.

Yeah, I must have been crazy to think there could be fellow "galaxians" on this board who might answer my question. I should never use this place as a resource. Thank you for pointing out my error.

ROTW is your best option as the quests there start around lvl 30ish and will get you up to 80 or near it.

I have to agree with the other guys though, don't add bait to your threads.  Assume the thread will go well and then move on from there.  Had that last paragraph not been in your original post, you probably would have found this thread would have been relatively flame free :)

Hmmm. I haven't even really touched space beyond what was in the tutorial/space station thing at the beginning. I AM very interested in that, though I don't know much about it. I still have that ship they gave me in the beginning. Is it very important to upgrade to a different ship or do you think that one will last me awhile?

I'll also head over to Lok, I remember that planet from when I played way back when. I always liked Lok, it was my favorite of the "advanced" planets.

    Thanks for the advice Jodokai.

Ah, RotW. So that starts around CL30, eh? I looked around on the SWG forums a little last night, but couldnt find a post mentioning that, thanks.

Are they still selling that individually in stores? Or would I pretty much order that online to get it alone? Hmmm, or do they maybe have a downloadable version somewhere, in the patcher maybe or on the main site? I'll have to check that, when I get home.

    Thanks again Obraik.

The beginning ship will probably last you the first 6 or so boxes, after that you'll probably want to look at getting a new chassis and components to keep up with the difficulty :)

Edit:  Yes, you can download ROTW from the station store.  If you head to https://store.station.sony.com/game_index.jsp?gamecode=SWG you can purchase the expansion there.  Then log in as usual and the expansion will download

Excellent info, Obraik. It is much appreciated. I will download it tonight.

Question: I haven't been able to find information on my space piloting ability anywhere in the interface. I checked the character page and profession page, nothing. Looked for tabs, can't find it. Not saying I searched the entire interface, but where might I find this info? I ask cause you reference boxes, which I assume would be on that page.

    Thanks again.

You need to first join up with a pilot squadron.  Check the sticky in the Pilots forum at the SWG forums for WP's to each recruiter.  Once you do that you'll get a space tab and a faction specific ship :)
