If a company did another SW mmorpg, would you like the current SW setting during Vaders time or 4000 years prior in the times of Naomi Sunrider, Ulik Keldroma and Exar Keen?
I'm sure some may not be familiar with the stories , but I'm also curious if many ppl are.

Why not Clone Wars times? One day order 66 would be executed and everyone would lose their Jedai! MWAHAHAHA!:p

And you think the whining is bad now...
I would also say neither ...
Clone Wars area BEFORE Order 66 gives you the best of all SW timeframes. Jedis galore, droid armies, villains, heroes ....
Although I like the Sunrider/Quel Droma era , it never was able to catch my imagination in the same way as the plus/minus 35 years around the Death Star assault.
Have fun

I wouldn't mind playing a SW MMORPG set in the times of Knights of the Old Republic. I never cared for beign Luke Skywhinner or the new Darth Timberlake.
Specially if it's done by a competent company like Bioware or Obsidian.
SOE knows what you like... You don't!
And don't forget... I am forcing you to read this!
I personally like the time right after ROTJ because the GCW conflict can be done to the fullest. I would also rather use more advanced ships as opposed to dated ships.
You can open up jedi more after ROTJ. We used that or after thrawn alot for our rpg. That time frame is the most conductive to free form rpg while still containing most of the "known" characters.
Adding clone wars content to this game instead of expanded universe content is just another example of SOE not understanding what the fanbase wanted. Sure clone trooper armor is cool looking. Add Royal Guard Armor and quests and content. Do you know how many people would play swg just to do a whole series of royal guard quests? Its one of the most underdone things in the star wars genre and one of the most "iconic". Everyone remembers those red robed figures.
The most underrated Rebels is Crix Madine. The esponiage and counter intelligence aspects of the game is lacking severely. The spy class could be really fun. Just show me the spy specific content that is all about your class.
They should go with any era thats well populated with Jedi and Sith, because thats what most people want and its what would make the game most interesting.
Dont bother asking how to balance a game like that - thats not my department.
That would be before the era of Naomi Sunrider in the days of Nagi-sato. (the real Sith wars)

As those adorable squirrls in the PSP commercial would say, "Hellz Yeah!"
An army of Jedi, an army of Sith, nuff said.
I voted for the old school StarWars btw. They made a mistake putting SWG in an era with no jedi.
I like the "Darth Vader/Luke" timeline as the first poster put it.
It captivates my attention and draws me in more than any other stories or timelines. There is just something about it. All I really ever wanted to do in most star wars games, and in swg when I played it, was kill rebels. I hates them...
After all the Emperor did for them, restoring peace to the republic, ending the clone wars, enslaving the wookies, etc... Ungrateful bastids.
Moving on...
I liked the feeling of jedi being rare and mysterious, as I feel they really should be. My main man Vader, the Emperor, and that whiny bastage Luke and his little green friend should be the only jedi. The jedi should be as one man so eloquently put it, "an ancient religion..." I dont wan't to see a jedi running around and just say, hmm... another jedi.
My main problem with all the books was the huge focus on Jedi. It was like, they found something people liked, so they were gonna beat this horse until it died. Then they beat it some more. I for one have had enough Jedi. Anyone who has played SWG for 5 minutes should have had their fill of Jedi.
