I'm just curious. Does anyone use TeamSpeak or Roger Wilco to communicate while raiding or just playing MMOGs? I had heard that a lot of FFXI people were using it because a lot of players are using gamepads and stopping to type a text message can put you at a major disadvantage. Do you think it gives a guild an advantage on high level raids or other encounters in game? It seems to me like it would be a logical tool for MMOGs, but it seems mostly action gamers use it for things like CS or BF1942.
Anyone out there using this for EQ or DAoC, etc.?

Yea the guild I am in uses TS when we play games together or just to get together and talk every now and then.
Yea I believe it does give a advantage simply cause you dont have to stop to type things. Just hit a button and talk/bark orders. Leaves your hands free for controlling other things.

Most players who use team speak have one player in there group/guild that have a second computer to run TS on. I tryed it once, but it was laggy as hell just chatting, and not playing a game at all. But we were not using a dedicated teamspeak server on a seperate computer. We were running teamspeak on our primary computers.
I know the guys at www.gamerswithjobs.com run a team speak server while they play FFXI on the Fenris server. You could try contacting them in their forums, if your interested in trying. To see if they would let you tag along, and play with Teamspeak for a while.
Anyway good luck with that!

I'm playing with TS very offen with my guild.
It is a major asset for all of guys who are on the TS channels : more fun, faster communication, a more "living" word etc.
It's a major drawback for those who are not on TS : lack of information
In summary : all in TS is the best. If not all, none.
All the best !

My brother and I and our friends just initiate a conference cell phone call with 5 or 6 people in it. Hey, free long distance, and free nights and weekends. That is why I got a cell phone with a speaker phone in it.
