OnomaOnoma Member Posts: 44
Congrats CCR for banning 70% of your population.  The customers IPS that arn't banned are upset with you to considering when they log on theres not enough people on now.  Banned every country that has internet ties to the united states which include france, spain , austy, finland, lativa , and more.  As well as banning japan, china,us,uk, and tawiwan rather ridcoulas id say.  Think I want to pay 50 dollars to pre-order so i can get beta acess to the US vershion?  Uh no have you ever seen US vershion games they make 10 diffrent ETAS before the game comes out and its ten times as buggy as the other vershions STILL.  Rather not pay 50 dollars for a game I might not even like in that vershion.  Congrats on winning the idiot award image image image image

I know im whineing a lot but If I wanted to download the 6-8 hr client and look at screenshots and videos for 6-8 hrs yesterday I would had expected to get to play.  Love how you can just download the client and never find out or state that anyone international cant play their vershion.  Was pretty upset when I couldn't log on and went on the forums and they banned all our IPS. image

I think they have a right to do so. They are catering to the Phillipines market, so they would not really have any interest in having non-phillipines residents beta-testing. Additionally, there might be an agreement somewhere to try in discourage cross-region memberships because CodeMasters is releasing RF in North America & Europe, and they certainly don't want to have their market going to another region and vice versa.
I think it's also probably in everyone's best interest to just wait for their respective regions' version of RF because it will be localized, and the support will be tailored better to that region. And other players will most likely speak the same language as you.

The Banning of outside ISPs is a required part of the hosting contract for Level-Up games. Sega had to sign a similiar contract for japanese hosting of RFO. Codemasters also had to sign a similiar contract for the hosting of RFO in the UK/USA. CCR the company that made RFO wants localized versions to stay localized to the region it was made for. I don't see a problem with it.

Your topic line says it all. "Philipines vershion [sic] BANNED US" which would make sense, since the United States and all the countries connecting through are indeed, not the Philippines.

    I think its entirely fair.

So its fair to let a man from denmark win the competition for beta acess to the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA'S VERSHION.  Yet Americans arn't allowed to participate in the philips vershion.  Yet an international man can partcipate in a closed beta in which he wont even be allowed to SUBSCRIBE TO WHEN THE GAME COMES OUT?!  Yeah ok ive proven my point if you agree that what they did is right your ignorant. sorry

You have no point. All you're doing is whining that the American version ISN'T OUT YET AND THEREFORE WE CAN'T BETA IT YET.

    Let's examine this closer.

Philippines Version = American Version? No.

Philippines Open Beta = American Closed Beta? No.

I've come to an amazing conclussion, and I mean, a few of you might be surprised by this one:

    THE PHILIPPINES ISN'T AMERICA.

    Shocking, I know.

Want the beta a lot faster? Move to the Philippines!

Dont necessarily blame the companies. There are also alot of laws and treaties that cover MMOs when it comes to hosting games. This is part of the reason why EU can't play on American MMO servers and why Americans cant play on EU servers. This is also the reason why Americans can't play on Chinese or Korean servers. With the laws as they are, the Koreans and Chinese can play on American servers.

I am only partly familiar with cyber and international laws so dont take my word for it.

So some people just ignore this text by Roin (& cxknight´s post further down) & keep thinking its unfair?

If you guys really want to play the PH server, try getting the SOCKS cap and try to bypass thier blocking of IP.  I remember when lineage 2 wasn't even in the US, I played Taiwan Lineage 2 closed/open beta with SOCKS cap (if you didn't, the game would NOT run cuz of IP block) and it ran great!

    google it image

The provider in each country is forced by contract to block all foreign IPs. This has been explained many times... Be greatful for what time you had to play.

Not that is matters since anyone that wants to play on a certain countries servers can just proxy in.
