Well, as Diablo 3 is already said to come.
Starcraft: Ghost is being worked on
    Starcraft 2 is promised
and WoW is strong as hell.

I'd assume the correct strategy to use is to make Diablo 3
    Then see how it sells
If it sells better than Starcraft 2 and Ghost - we can safely assume that Diablo will be the MMO to come when WoW hits under 1million

The bad thing for Blizzard in this case is that if people start to leave WoW on a bigger scale
(Which Will happen when the audience starts to look around..) they might lose all trust when people see how they handle it.

The very fact that ALL good Devs have given Blizzard the finger kinda tips you off about their future sadly,
    good company once..

Anyways, back to topic, the sales stats between Diablo 3 and the two SC games willtell if we get a SC MMO at all,
and if we do, don't count on it soon as they won't be able to pull another EverQuest..
Maybe as an EVE MMO - in that case it'll take a few years atleast

Played so far: 9Dragons, AO, AC, AC2, CoX, DAoC, DF, DnL, DR, DDO, Ent, EvE, EQ, EQ2, FoMK, FFO, Fury, GW, HG:L, HZ, L1, L2, M59, MU, NC1, NC2, PS, PT, R:O, RF:O, RYL, Ryzom, SL, SB, SW:G, TR, TCoS, MX:O, UO, VG, WAR, WoW...
    It all sucked.

That's kind of an overstatement, Mikesta.  The human race won't advance because I have a lack of faith in game developers.  Come work in customer service with me, we could find PLENTY of reasons the human race won't advance.  ;)

I've played a large number of MMOs, and the majority of them lack key elements.  Such as the RPG part.  It's not the games' fault so much as the players.  Everyone's too focused on "omg teh pwnz0ry1!11eleventy"

Plus, look at the track record we have.  WoW is a spoon fed MMO.  Everything's simple.  I'm not saying their Starcraft MMO would be, but just basing it on their previous MMO...I don't see why it wouldn't either.  Who knows, they may want to "try something new?"  But I honestly doubt it.  I'm currently following a few MMOs that are trying "new" things, and right now they can't get funding for their life.  Not only due to the huge amount of MMOs already, but because they're considered "risky."  They aren't cookie cutter, therefore no one wants to touch them.

I don't see why Blizzard wouldn't be the same.  Why try something new when obviously their spoon feeding, cash cow has made so much?  Their goal is money.  That's simple.  They're businessmen.  They want to increase their monetary worth.

Who knows, I may be wrong.  I HOPE I'm wrong.  I don't WANT cookie cutter MMOs.  I WANT something new and exciting.  Something that is considered risky.  I WANT a developer to stand up and say they aren't going to give in to the pressure and throw out their awesome ideas.  But we've seen it time and time again where they do just throw them away.  Either lack of time, funding, technology, or some other pressure by the big cheeses in the suits in their big chairs.

My lack of faith will continue until a developer breaks the mold.

    That actually made me laugh.
Blizzard hasn't released a game since, what, Warcraft 3 TFT?

Well my friend, all PC games blizzard released were fucking hits.
    Warcraft 1
    Diablo 1
    Warcraft 2
    The Dark Portal
    Starcraft
    Brood War
    DIABLO 2
    Lord of Destruction
    Warcraft 3
    The Frozen Throne

Someguy said Starcraft were Blizz's stepchild... IMO, before WoW, that was warcraft. Ok, it was their first PC hit and shit, but Diablo2 was and still is SO HUGE, and Starcraft is a game that will never be matched in asia. I think they only picked Warcraft because making a fantasy MMO is not as risky as trying something "new" - plus warcraft3 success.

Whenever Blizzard releases a game, its a hit. Blizzard just owns at that (and no, I'm not a WoW fan)

    [b]On topic:
No, there will be no other Blizzard MMO. WoW won't lose like 2m subscriptions in 2 years or so. Blizzard cares alot about that game, and as long as they care, the game will keep growing and growing. They will prolly go releasing expansions and stuff. My guess is that they will create a blizz part just to admin WoW, while the rest makes console games and other games like Diablo3 (hopefully, I love Diablo so much :/)

One thing to remember here is that Sony did not make Everquest. They bought it from Verant, I believe after the second expansion :)

I think a Starcraft MMORPG would be cool if done right. But that won't happen anytime soon...
As someone already stated before, this game would certainly split their playerbase and right now it's not a smart decision money wise.

Funny thing is I won't go near WoW. Totally and completely uninterested in it. However, I'd hop on World of Starcraft like a fly on $%&^!.

If they were smart they'd make the game, and do a "station pass" kinda thing where people from WoW can get access to WoS for a fraction of the price. ::::38:: They'd have another multi-million player base game in no time..and even MORE money.

Ahh i guess i see where you are coming from, and i agree to a point. Devs really havent gone out on a limb and tried something new, and i am really getting tired of it. However, i do have some faith in blizzard. WoW is very simplified, i do agree. They had to do that in order to widen their player base. As you said, they are bussiness men, and i dont blame them for that. Hopefully though, they will deliver something good if they do decide to finish this game.

    Am I ever wrong??
