Halo vs. Counter Strike-source

Which would you rather play Halo (for the computer), or  counter strike-source??? Also does Halo have PvP for the computer?

Yeah, Halo for PC has Online play. I have it too (but havent played it for a LONG time), but I don't know if you will get the Halo 2 experience with multiplayer but overall, the PC version for Halo is for the multiplayer (I hope they didn't overpower the weapons like in H2 though).

It's good man, if you can get it at a price under 20bucks that would be great.

Counter Strike...I only played it for a total of 20 min (on different weeks) at my friends house. I haven't played much Counter Strike, but it's pretty darn close to realism and pretty fun. I hear a lot of people hack too.

I don't know what to tell you but if you can get halo pc for cheap, buy it and maybe you can have some money left over for CSS.

I've played both fairy in depth, and have to say, both are pretty fun. Halo for the pc is ALOT of fun (its actually better than Halo for xbox) Counter Strike source is, well its alot of fun, but alot slower paced than Counter Strike 1.6, so therefore more noob friendly. Funwise i say go with Halo because i found it more fun, (i kno thats a little redundant), but if you want great graphics with pretty fun gameplay go with Counter Strike Source. Personally i would go with halo for the pc because it has better gameplay (IMO) and the graphics are still pretty good. Its also cheaper (Only about 20 bucks at most stores). I had a problem with CSS because i am used to CS 1.6 and the gameplay was alot slower. However, you dont need the cd's to play CSS if using cd's is a problem for you. However, if you really want a great FPS for the computer, and you have a good computer, then go with BF2. The online play is amazingly fun. Also, you could go with CS 1.6, which IMO is better than source (Yea i said it, better) but its up to you.

That's definately the minority opinion... I've played both versions extensively, and I still to this day would rather go and hook up my xbox and find Halo than play Halo for PC... it just doesn't handle well with a keyboard and mouse (odd to say that for a FPS, but halo was definately made for consoles...).

Definately go with Counter-Strike Source... it will come with Half-Life 2 (great game), plus a much better multiplayer. I've played Counter-Strike for years, but Halo gets boring (especially on PC).

As far as BF2 goes, I love it, but its definately an acquired taste not for everybody... and it sure gets frustrating when you walk for 5 minutes just to get killed by a tank and have to wait another 10 seconds to get back into the game. It's definately fun, but it doesn't offer that "uber FPS raw ownage" feel that CS does.

Bah, i will stick to my point. Halo on PC is better. Why? for one it has online. two it has more weapons, 3 it has more vehicles, four it has more maps. I found it handled extremely well with the keyboard and mouse. Howevr, you may want to get CSS now that i think about it. More bang for your buck. you get CSS, which is a pretty good game, HL2 which is an amazing game, and you get HL death match if im not mistaken. And in Battle Feild all i do is Snipe people so... i dont really get owned by tanks that much. but u r right, it is an aquired taste.If you have the money tho, i suggest getting both (Halo and CSS)

Actually, Halo 1 has great online multiplayer on xbox... xbconnect and gamespy's arcade thing, both free downloadable programs and extremely easy to use. In fact, I dare say it's better online than Halo PC's online, because it has a much better lobby system, along with a better community.

Besides the point... there's Halo 2. :P

Ahh so they have online for Halo on the xbox now. Sorry i havent played Halo in a few years so... Do they have more vehicles/weapons/maps?

Actually.. it's not "now." It's been available for the past 4 years or more.

No, they don't have new content... Halo 1 came out before xbox live or downloadable content existed, so there's no way they can add that (unless you mod your xbox).

you must be talking about that thing or somthing you buy or u hook up to your pc and it tricks the xbox into thinking it's doing lan multiplayer. Somthing like that.

Yea because i've had the game for well over 2 years now, and i have never been able to do anything like that with just the xbox...

No.. it was released a loooong time ago; by my estimation... about a year after Halo was released? I got the game when it came out, and I think it was about a year or so later when they came out with gamespy arcade, and then another few months came xbconnect. Yes, it "tricks" your xbox into thinking it's on system link, but you don't have to buy anything (other than a network cable, if you don't already have one...).

I'm surprised none of you have heard of it. I figured it was pretty well-known. =/
