ok this game in a way is neverending...so what is the point really? when do u know when to stop dishing the money out and stop playin till the next one?
I just had an idea....U know it would be cool if they made it 12.95 for a year and then everyone who had payed while it was like that they didnt have to pay for a year but all the new subscribers did...
another thought...since i havent gotten the game yet...lets say u had a friend who playeed this game for a while and they get a bunch of good equipment can they just give it to you and make the game simple (unfun) for you? Does having high level chars in the game ur in have any downsides? I know long post but sorry just thoughts that are coming to me:)

And that makes it ok?
If you're already playing something, and are thinking of switching to this, i'd urge you not to.. it's simply trading one leveling treadmill for another.
I for one have leveled Warrior to 30, monk to 15, and Samurai to 22.. and i'm SICK OF LEVELING!
Therefore i'll be bowing out of the MMORPG genre until something immersive and unique comes out.
Which FF Character Are You?
If you want a easy leveling mmorpg, go to AC2. In AC2 you could level your character from 1 to cap50 in a month then start your hero adventure. FF11 is more challenging, If you are sick of leveling why not just go to crafting? by level 35 you should have no problem gathering money and items for all the crafting skills.
12.95 isn't much to save all your character on the server. Your character is not saved on your PC, the server is doing that for you. You get a 30-day free period when you purchase this game and only 12.95/mo after that.
You can equip a friend and give them money. but that won't help them getting levels. Armors are level restricted, and they are affordible. Only rare items are more expansive.
Well I am confused why you would play a mmorpg if your looking for some "point" other then enjoying the game. MMORPGS are supposed to be designed with the idea of no end in sight. That way you keep playing and have continous content to enjoy. Its a fantasy world you get to live in and enjoy. What is the "point" of your real life?
Rather then worry about leveling the goal of the game is to sit back and enjoy the adventure. The idea isnt to see how fast you can get to 70, its to enjoy the road getting there. Fun adventures, quests galore, exciting battles, great people to meet.
On top of all that FFXI has more "point" then any other mmorpg I have seen to date. In some ways its designed around a story and missions that progress that story very much like a single player role playing game. These missions make you the hero that is helping to decide the fate of your kingdom and the world.
As far as your questions about "twinking" goes, I would say it's not a problem in FFXI. Armor and weapons have LvL requirements, so even if you had a high LvL friend who gave you a lot of uber equipment it you probably wouldn't be able to use it of a long time. Also, who says you have to take the stuff tey offer you? I know in eq I have some high LvL friends who would offer me pretty nice things, but I ussually didn't accept them. I wanted to earn/ find things on my own.
Well, that's just my opinion, if anyone disagrees with it feel free to tell me . TTyL TTFN!

wow theres all these things...im actually doubting whether or not its worth it..I mean the poeple who like it make it sound like its something u cant miss....and the others make it sound quite passable...what to do...

I love it when people say things like this. I have an idea. Stop leveling! How about you enjoy the other parts of the game? Look into crafting, do some quests, engross yourself in the *very* good storyline by doing as many missions as you can, learn about gardening, try decorating your mog house, etc. The game isn't making you level for hours on end. You are.
