i know this is a late reply so if you haven't gotten the game yet and would like to know more about it I'd look at the info on the fan site which links can be found from the official GW site. Plus unless things have changed there is a trial available you can actually play the game and 1st hand see how you like it.
Sure i can tell u something about guildwars...
iff u buy the game i might think this game is boring, but iff u get further in the game u meet more ppl and u will see more and more about the map and monster that are in the game.
i will learn ur place with the ranks, guilds and guildhall battles..
u meet other ppl maybe from ur country or somewere else iff u like this adventure games with mission's for 4-8 players u should buy it!
u get lvl experience skill points and u get skills from solo quests or an adventure with an ally quest...
u will get and see all kinds of weapons and shields..
well i hope u gonna buy the game it worth ur money. But u must like this game or else i can say u that u dont have to buy it..

Read the fan sites... go to guildwars.com and then community -> fansites... and read up.
I wouldn't suggest Guild Wars as a inmature persons game (read young if you want)... There is PvP and the game is very competive... if you screw up people will yell at you and call you a noob... or worse.
In coop missions (PvE) if your group dies... you have to start completely over... so once again a screw up could get you scolded for wasting other peoples time.
guildwars is ok .... but it sucks u cant copy the game and play .... because of the stupid secret code
further there is that the details just suck.....
-Max lvl is 20
-PvP/PvE Based
-A lot of teamwork involved both PvE and PvP
In Guild Wars, you'll find it most fun if you're a pvper. Lvl 20 isn't too hard to achieve once you ascend. You could reach lvl 20 in 2-3 weeks.
What will take you awhile to get is your equips or some nice obsidian armor, or 15k armor sets.
Other than pvping or hall of heroes, you'll find yourself farming the majority of the time or starting new characters.
Great game if you're a pvper, if not you'll find yourself bored of the game in a month or so.
Guild Wars is a good game i think after u get to lvl 20 though it gets a little boring. THe professions at the moment are monk,warrior,necromancer,elementalist and ranger. Soon guild wars chapter 2 will come out so there will be even more professions (like assassins w00t) so i think u should go ahead and get the game.
