I played them both and maybe technically they had better graphics (I don't think so) but the art is so generic and rehashed.
I can't comment on the others because I have not played them.

That, my friend, is personal preference. We've had that discussion. QUALITY wise EQ2's graphics are actually superior. You're talking about artistic preference.

I don't want to have to go AFK and then come back, realise I've been PKed and have dropped by Brigadine gaiters, and lost quite a large amount of experience.

    Ok folks
    For the LAST time:
WOW was released in 2004 it is not eligable for game or MMO of the year for 2005.

Just because something can't happen, doesn't mean it won't.

Yes, that was my attempt at not looking completely stupid.

    It failed.

nooo way game of the year, I'm playing it currently all it is is a mmorpg formula done Blizzard style. It offers nothing new. Warcraft 3 I would give game of the year when it was released so I have nothing against Blizzard, but WoW does not deserve that title. Halflife2 would be a better contendor.

damn it will be great when a mmorpg comes along that does deserve that award.
    The key requirements for me:
Making the game fun at all levels; from the start to the endgame.
    Making the journey different and varied;
Innovating the industry as a whole, giving new ideas to every successor.
    Removing the grind.

Certain things which would be great to see; a change to the one exp system.
; a change to deaths only giving exp.
; pvp as an integral and FUN part.
    ; mobs with personality.
; competing with AI forces over territory.
