I was looking to play a new MMO, current interests are PotBS which I am very interested in, I always wanted to play a pirate and got hooked on the idea almost immediately. I looked at a few others but didnt feel like paying for anything until i found what I wanted.
If anyone could help me I would like to find a game that has PVP like Ultima Online (pre trammel), I always found it exciting to leave town and be subject to getting jumped and have to defend myself. If I wanted to get better at a game I would have to take a risk and expose myself to the rest of the players. Of course it was frusterating to lose things when I died and was looted but it was never to hard to get back on my feet and continune on. Eventually I was good enough to fight back or form large groups to hunt PK players, or even become a PK and get excited looking for players to kill outside of town. If anyone has ever played and enjoyed it, they would remember bucs den where you could run around the town and PVP people or go searching for PKs, I dunno i think im sounding redundant but i just have a passion for it. I know devs are really making this type of playing absolete because it makes people get upset at playing and leave games therefore cutting profits for the creators.
thanks
Ive got two choices, run, or stay and fight...And I dont see no doors...

You won't find that PvP system in CoH/V.
PvP in the CoH/V world is as follows:
You can challenge another player(s)/group to battle in an arena. Various settings are available, from scorekeeping to what playing field you're using. Arenas are restricted to hero v hero or villain v villain only...no hero v villain fights. No setbacks other than pride occur for losses.
You can go into one of the three PvP zones...Bloody Bay, Siren's Call, and Warburg. Each of these zones automatically adjusts all the players that enter them to be at a certain level...Bloody Bay is 25, Siren's Call is 30, and Warburg is 40, IIRC...this means that if you are above the target level, your combat level will be reduced(and all power choices you made after that level will be temporarily disabled), and if you are below that level, your combat level will be raised to compensate(but you don't get to pick extra powers to have temporarily). Bloody Bay and Siren's Call are both limited to hero v villain PvP, while Warburg is a free-for-all zone. In those zones, you can run instanced missions that will help your side or hinder the other side(heros or villains), you can do that zone's quest type mission, or you can street hunt, the latter two of which involve being in the main part of the zone, interacting with other players. Setbacks for losses here depend on what killed you. If you die(the finishing blow is what counts) at the hands of another player, then you recieve no XP debt. If you die at the hands of an NPC mob, then you receive XP debt.
You can participate in base raids. One Supergroup or Villaingroup defends a base while another one raids it. Heros can raid heros, and villains can raid villains. No personal experience here, but what I do know: The defense team (usually) will have an item of power, while the raid team is trying to take it. No setbacks occur for any deaths here.
