Marcus Vick arrested on firearms chargesBy STEPHANIE HEINATZ AND KYLE TUCKER, The Virginian-Pilot
© January 9, 2006SUFFOLK Marcus Vick, the former Virginia Tech quarterback who was dismissed from the team last week after various troubles on the field and with the law, was arrested and charged Monday with three counts of brandishing a firearm, a misdemeanor.
The 21-year-old turned himself in at the Suffolk magistrates office Monday afternoon, where he was later released on a $10,000 bond. Sunday night, shortly after 9 p.m., police were called to the parking lot of the McDonalds at 6201 College Dr.
The mother of a 17-year-old boy reported that Vick had pointed a weapon at her son and two others during an altercation, said police spokeswoman Lt. D.J. George.
Larry Woodward, Vicks lawyer, acknowledged the arrest Monday, but declined further comment until later in the day.
Reached shortly before turning himself in, Vicks response to questions about the incident was a dial tone. Calls to Vicks mothers Suffolk home went unanswered.
This arrest is just the latest incident in a tumultuous two-year stretch for Vick.On May 14, 2004, Vick was charged with three counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor and sentenced to 30 days in jail, which he later avoided with an appeal. That charge was the result of a party with three teenage girls, in which Vick provided alcohol and was accused of, but never charged with, having sex with one of them - a 15-year-old.
Then, on July 3, 2004, after Vick was pulled over on Interstate 64 in New Kent County for driving 88 in a 65-mph zone, he was found in possession of marijuana. One month later, he pleaded no contest to the drug charge, received probation, a suspended license and was booted out of school and off the football team for the season.
Under a last-chance, zero-tolerance agreement, Vick returned to school and his team in January 2005. As the starting quarterback, he led Tech to an 11-2 record and received All-ACC honors this season.
But during last Mondays Gator Bowl victory, Vick stomped on the leg of a defenseless opposing player, drawing intense national scrutiny and criticism.
As school officials and coaches were trying to decide on his punishment, it was discovered Friday that he had been pulled over in Hampton for speeding and driving on a suspended license on Dec. 17.
That was the final straw from Virginia Tech. University president Charles Steger announced late Friday afternoon that Vick had been permanently dismissed from the football team.
That night, Vick was spotted in a Virginia Beach restaurant and told The Virginian-Pilot: Its not a big deal. Ill just move on the next level, baby.
Damn. I was always the one who thought he could surpass Michael.

never liked the team i always hear about this guys idiotic behaviors.
i think we should punish him by sending him to green land in nothing but swimwear and make him live there for 2 years.

The most interesting aspect of this story is now that he has been kicked out of school, he has declared that he is going to make himself elgible for the NFL draft. If he does not go to jail, I really believe he has the opportunity to make millions in the NFL. He has most of the athletic ability of his brother but he has better passing.
Just like Denver gave Maurice Clarret a shot...man, that guy went off the deep end.... there will be a team willing to draft him. It is sad to see that he is potentially throwing away his life by doing some of these things. It has to be hard living in the shadow of your big brother (Marcus's first car was an Escalade), and trying to make your way and get noticed. But come on the spoiled little brat, tempertantum, attention hogging antics he is doing is just ridiculous.
I really hope he is able to clean up his act (do I think it is going to happen, no) and become a solid NFL QB. Otherwise it will be sad knowing what could have been.

man..I used to live in Hampton Roads...Never knew he lived there
People who have to create conspiracy and hate threads to further a cause lacks in intellectual comprehension of diversity.
but he is not that incredible high on the list of possible NFL drafts, number one without a doubt is reggie bush, UFC's running back. Then i would go with Texas Tech's QB(after that 15 yard completeion with two guys attempting to tackle him hell ya), and then a score of other much much more skilled NCAA players.
without his problems.
but since god damn houston has the first pick this year(worst waste of reggie bush), i am gonna hate the draft this year and anything this terrible can happen.

Verg....I thought there was no running in UFC , I thought the cage would pretty much defeat the purpose (I figure you mean USC). And I am pretty sure you meant Texas' quarterback (Vince Young) as your next choice.
1) Reggie Bush
2) Matt Leinhart
3) Vince Young (just based off the Rose Bowl....that bastard)
4) AJ Hawk
5) DE from Maryland (cant remember his name)
I agree with you 100% that Reggie going to Houston is going to be a waste. He (crosses fingers) is going to have to be like Barry Sanders, just put a bad team on his back and literally run with them. I just hope that because of Houston's offensive line (or lack there of) doesn't cause an update to the smiley dictionary:
<------- Reggie Bush's first carry in the NFL
