I just bought the Epic edition over the net and I am currently downloading it. I was just wondering, isn't there any faster servers than this? Cause at 70Kb/s its really slow to get both the Catacombs expansion and Darkness Rising Anyone knows how its gonna be with my trial account and the CD key and stuff now? Cause I ain't got a specifik CD key other than the one I got with the trial

Hmmm.... You should get a couple of license keys with the Epic edition you bought (one for Catacombs and one for Darkness Rising). Also are you dl-ing from Mythic? My DL with DR (bought online from Mythic) went a lot faster... around 200KB/s.
Where did you buy the Epic off? Didnt you receive them in your mailbox?
I bought them with the client. And what do you mean with mailbox? My inlife mailbox or my internet mailbox? Atm it has risen to about 80KB/s so it aint that fast
if you are downloading something that say Epic Edition then I do not believe it has been sanctioned by Mythic so who knows in what condition your files will be in and you will still need to buy the licenses.
If by buying the Epic Edition you mean buying and downloading the expansions from Mythic then it should not be that slow. Sometimes I get a slow connection with them and I just stop and reconnect. Usually I get around 600-700 kb/s. This is still way too slow for me but I find very few sites that will download at more than 1 mb/s.
Hey Kunou?
Suggestion for the Devs: Make the Digital purchase a Bit Torrent.

Already did, we're working on it. The expansions I believe are available on Torrents, just don't think the trial is yet...

Ok now "I" am confused. Can you purchase the EPIC version and DOWNLOAD it online? Not the seperate expansions individually the $39 epic one that includes all of them?
It is my understanding right now you either need to order it or buy from a store.
That is correct as far as I know... Epic Edition is a box only.

There are gaming sites out there that buy boxed versions then sell them online via download. Seen a few, mabye he's going to one. People used to get SWG that way in europe where it was hard to find on shelves.

Bit torrent can be great or sucktastic depending who is online. Just get a decent download server.
Congrats on getting the game, oy it's just great!

I dunno how possible that is with our game though since as far as I know we don't just sell the CD-Keys to people like that. In order for it to work they'd have to find an individual box copy of Epic for each downloaded copy they sold...

Ok, maybe it was a bit wrong of me saying that bought the Epic edition. I bought the Catacombs expansion and the Darkness Rising expansion online through the loginclient at 29.99$ so I guess it is the same as the Epic edition. About the slow speed, it might be because I am in Sweden and downloading from the States usually takes awhile then. What I am wondering now is the following. I tried the 14 days trial, liked it alot and then bought it as I said previously. The only problem is, I haven't got a unique CD-Key since I started with the 14-day trial. I got the CD-Key that is posted on Gamespot. See my concern here?
Thanks for all the help and fast reply btw, mostly the DAOC community rock!
Maybe I don't quite follow the question... If you're playing you should be fine. You should have gotten unique cdkeys for the 2 expansions, but you shouldn't need one for the trial.

Did you buy them through the client? Your account gets "flagged" as "Expansion XXXXXX Enabled" whenever you buy/activate an expansion so as long as they're working you should be fine. I'm kinda assuming here, but thats the way it SHOULD work. You could call Billing Support to check if it would make you feel better though, but if they're working fine for you then you're account should be flagged correctly and you'll be fine.

No problem at all, feel free to lemme know if you need anything else.
