US/Europe Servers

Does anyone know how the servers are going to work in regards to US/Europe? I have friends in both europe and the us and we are keen to play together on the same server.

Will it be one set of servers for the US another for Europe? or a mix of both?

    They haven´t really announced that in any way yet, but my guess is that there will be split servers for the US/EU players.

    Well, February 10 is considered the US and European release. Since they are both compromised with each other, I think the servers will be mixed. Just my thoughts, though.

    If the servers split, time zone problems occur deeply... My vote is for mixed servers image

    Hi,

    i really hope they will provide special european servers. But they should allow EVERYONE to select their server of choice.

    I rather dont want to play and US server again as the time zones are just so so wrong. I remember lineage where i had to stay up to 4 or 6 am just to attent that important siege..

    I'm getting to old for this.

    Well, the problem with Mixed/International Servers is, of course, the lag-issue. But the best solution would probably something similar to the SWG System, where every server is accesible for all subscribers, but some optimized for the US and some for the EU market, regarding ping/lag.
    However, lag issues in an PvP game is never a good thing so while it is certainly nice to be able to play with people from both the US and EU some will always suffer from lag and thus probably not enjoy playing on that particular server

    There will be different types of servers apparently

    Some for US, some for UK and then some International servers for everyone ::::01::

    I would actually prefer mixed servers as well (though that is not going to change anything). My reasoning for this is that I work a 9-5 job. If everyone on the server is from the US, there will be huge lag from like 6-10 pm or something, because everyone will get online then. And there will be practically no one on during the day. It just seems like it should be a consistent levels of players all during the day.

    Similar to FFXI if any of you have played that.

    So the lag is potentially much worse (during peak times) with an only US server.

    Via what i have gotten on codemasters forums for the game.

    There will be a set of server located in the US (location is not yet known), a set of servers in the UK, and a set of servers for international.

    The international server will be the most actively changing server as Chip Wars will be occuring every 8 hours and if you play on a US only or UK only server then some Chip Wars will be lacking people. Just my opinion anyhow.

    The actual release is Feb. 14 thats when gamestop recieves and then ships out.  The game may not even make that deadline though.  Don't act surprised if the game release is set back a week or two.

    that all servers will be stationed in europe,

    Well I hope they set it up like SOE did with SWG. A mixed server but with the servers specific to locations. Does anyone know how many Toons we will be able to have per server? I dont know about all of you but I am a Alt-oholic. I have my Main that I play but then theres days I dont play on that toon just to play a different class or the like.

    They are going to have a set of servers in the US and a set in the UK. As far as multi chars, the game default will allow each account to have 3 chars per server.. Codemasters has the right to change this is they see fit.

    I think mixed is way better since not only because of time zone thing but because you can get to meet people from a totaly new and different continent. Have some fun and chill out with like friends you have never see before lol!!!::::01::
