I have played these MMO's before so think I can safely say that im an MMO enthusiast.
EQOA/ps2 - 1 year (quit when everyone started playing FFXI)
FFXI - 8 months (quit cause the economys busted ala. foreign gil farmers and bard's are mainly useless)
Planetside - 2 months (quit cause the games dead)
Eve Online - 1 month (quit because my ship has no crew just me and a computer... LAME)
FlyFF - (currently tyding me over till I get into a new decent MMO)

Ok here are my questions (I've searched the forums for a few mins if u find a decent forum that answers my questions feel free to post so u dont have to type out alot, cause ive looked and cant find anything)

Question #1
If u get rare armor/weapons in the game does it show on your character or does your character still look the same after getting a giant sword or cool looking armor? ( I know this game isnt about graphics or anything like that but it would be nice if my character could at least look somewhat cool looking with decent armor/weapons on) Also as a side question do the spell effects change with different spells?

Question #2
I have a rather outdated computer so I was wondering if theres a trial version of the game I could run to see if its playable on my system? Here are the stats of my system.

1.3 ghz celeron
512 mb pc133 ram
128 mb geforce 4 4000mx
6 gb free HD space

Question #3
Do I have to pay $10 for the game then $15bux a month all at the first time I play it for a total of $25 or is there a free month in there or something?

Question #4
Is there a class in this game (ex. bard) thats sole purpose is to buff (NOT HEAL) yourself and other characters?

I know that for the most part in alot of mmo's (with the exeption being everquest to my knowledge) the buffer class is connected to healing so I was wondering if theres a class in this game thats made specifically to buff the heck out of yourself and others?

ok im done ty for responding i'll be watching this thread

dont play the game, if you are used to leveling up n stuff and like that system, dont change you will be severly dissapointed.

We are the old school players that know the game and what has happened to it...you dont know what you are getting into

Ive got two choices, run, or stay and fight...And I dont see no doors...

UO has no classes.  It's 100% skill based.  Anyone who wants to take the time to learn certain skills can.  There's no limit.  You can be a Fighter that can nuke with the best mage in the land while wearing plate armor if you want to.

UO has no levels.  As mentioned above it's a SKILL system.  It will take time to raise those skills but you'll never gain a "level" just skill.

For the MOST part all armor looks fairly similar though you can dye it if you so desire.  That said there are some items that look VERY cool and are 'special'.

If you're really into graphics, however, this is NOT the game for you.  The graphics are 10 years old.  Even the "new" engine is still pretty lousy graphics.  UO's strength is it's gameplay and story and PVP and skill system... NOT it's graphics.

    =)

As far as what system can run UO?  It's 9 years old.  If you have bought a computer within the last 10 years it'll run UO.

Unless they changed it the first month is free.

As far as 'buffs' well... anyone can learn any type of magic so yeah, you could become a pure 'buff' person... but it's kinda limiting yourself and you'll get PK'd a lot.
