What server do you guys recommend for a UK player ?

Hey all, havnt posted on here in quite a while so hi everyone :p. I'v just got a couple of questions that i was hoping you guys could possibly answer for me, the first being, what would be the best server to start up on as a UK player, i'm basically looking for a server with a big population and the last questions. Could someone explain the server types, i heard they have classic servers now that dont have TOA or somthing on them, what difference does that make to the game (good/bad). Thanks in advance for any info on this.

    The "classic" servers do indeed remove the ToA Expansion zones and abilities/items from the game. As for good or bad, all depends on how you look at it. Some people consider it good because there is less to do to "max" your character, others feel it is bad because it removes a LOT of content from the game. Content that imo is very fun to go through and worth it.

    As for which server is best for a UK player, any with a high population really. If you want a Classic server Gareth has the highest population for those. If you want a regular one then probably either Merlin or Lancelot would be your best bets.

    If you don't like the ToA expansion, wich I have never played, then come and play with us on the Gareth server! Preferably a Mid character but hey, if you choose to walk down the path of Hibernia or Albion, then it's just another person I can kill in RvR image

    Good points

    1)has a constant high pop of over 2.5k even at early hours of morning it still hits over 1k

    2)has loads of uk players

    3)uses same prime time like you do while us servers will be kind of empty when you are at prime time

    4)is a newish server with classic rules thus making life easier

    bad points

    1)always a few patches behind.The new expansion is not even live there till feb 2006

    2)ran by GOA who was as incompetent today as they were 3 years ago.A horrible and slow CSR.

    3)refuses to patch english speaking servers who have same coding as US servers as translations are unneccassary because it will look "unfair" on other non english speakers(wtf !).So we have to wait for no real reason till they translate.I think they are just too lazy to bother to do seperate patches.

    Apart from the obvious fact DAoC europe is run by a bunch of amateurs called GOA(mythic next time get a proper professional company to run your games) i suggest you come here.
