live after lvl 20

This is my second time around on ffxi and i had run into the exact same problem last time I had played.  Once i reach lvl 20, and i have my sub job and my choco liscence I run out of fun things to do.  This time i was a bit smarter and leveled my subjobs first, like monk and thief.  Now i am here again and wondering what the next step is.

I find myself farming dhamels, and upping my crafts but i hope that there is more to the game than that and leveling at this point.  I only have about 7-10 hrs a week that I can possibly play the game so joining leveling parties at this point is maybe twice on the weekend.  My linkshell does alot of quests but mostly during the hours when i am not available.

My question is basically, did anyone else run into this wall, what did you do, is 10 hours, tops, enough to really get into this game at this point or should I start to look else where,

10 hours a week doesn't sound like much time. I personally never ran into such a wall since I can put more time into the game but I can c ur point. I don't really know what u mean by "fun things" cause crafting,questing etc is part of the other things u can do in the game. Maybe u should try to find more time to dedicate to the game or try something else. It really depends on what u want from the game too.

I thought the game took off beyond level 20. The dunes and soloing before was a bit of a chore but once I travelled to the Jeuno and got a Linkshell things really started getting fun.

Using real tactics in battle and landing my first Magic Burst are all sweet memories, but hey if you find yourself uninspired maybe you should try doing some missions or something, they're always fun greater ranks are incredibly useful in the long run.

If you are pressed for time you should set yourself some goals.  That way when you log in you have something to work on.

Don't overwhelm yourself.  It's like excercising you have to do a little every day and see the results looking back.

Honestly, having a high level makes the rest of the game easier.  So, if you wanna lvl fast you should pick a mage job like BLM, WHM, or RDM.  Buying spells will hurt you the most, but in the long run you're better off.

Being a hi lvl allows you to meet more people (join a ls) who can help you finish quests.  Helps you to farm faster on lower level mobs.  Gives you more access to other areas via Outpost Warps.  Also the higher level you are the more opportunities you have to make big cash off BCNMs, NM, and HNMs.
