Am I the only one?

Am I the only one who feels like this? I always felt that SWG was best when we were all trying to become jedi. I know a lot of people hated grinding and I can understand that. I just found I went through a lot of profession I would have never even thought of (dancer, architect). I know they stopped it because they didn't think it was healthy to have all this power grinding but I wasn't so sure. It was great to try and get through as many professions as you could. I know some people took some due to the fact they could rip through them in a few hourse but some people like me just worked through them. Think about it, was there ever a time when there were more people online? I really wish I had the numbers on it. I thought the village was total crap. I nearly quit. Then when I did get Jedi and saw 8 hours of work wiped out by debt I finally did quit. I came back Post-CU and that lasted a month. I never even made it to NGE but I assumed it totally sucked if it was worse than the CU.

In the end this is what I would really love to see: Right back to the beginning. Now this would include a lot of good fixes that came like fixing the chef profession which started as useless. Then we have to get through the 6 secret professions all over again.

I just see so much Pre-CU talk yet I remember it being the best around Christmas the first year with the holo's and after.

I realize people that are anti-profession grinding will think this sucks. But I do understand it. I just personally enjoyed it. Maybe I am the only one.

There are only 10 types of people in this world, those that understand binary and those that don't

I don't quite agree....when the holos were given out and everyone started the grind, that was the beginning of the end....noone was playing anymore...they were grinding.

The golden age...if you could even call it an age...a couple months only...was before the great holo giveaway. There was a percentage of people who where going full steam ahead to figure out jedi...but most folks were playing who they wanted to be in the SW universe.

This, IMO, was the biggest mistake SOE made.  I know that people complained about not being able to become a Jedi, however the game was pretty fun without them.  They should have stuck to their guns and made the trigger unknown and variable for each character at creation.  Eventually people would have figured out that it involved professions mastered, but I think that with minimal numbers of scared Jedi running about they would have been a very long term goal of only the most dedicated SWG fans.  If they had made the changes to the game that eventually came over time to include some of the revamps that happened in the CU, then the game would still be very much alive today.  But hindsight is 20/20.
