This article talks about a very interesting game called "Spore". It is not out yet but looks to be the ultimate in freeform, player created content, with a very high replay value.

Yeah, I've been eyeing Spore for a while.  Unfortunately it's in such an early stage that news is almost non-existant on it.

Definately waiting on it, though.

Sandboxing is the future of gaming.

This is a perfect idea. Create a universe that has certain rules, like physics. And let the player create the content, instead of the developer.

It sounds so superb, but I wonder if it's as grand as it really sounds. So many games have such an appeal to them in concept, but when they come out, you feel dissapointed.

But this definitely look's very fun. I hope it can have a type of multi-player persistent world with hundreds of people: That would make me giddy.
