Are you crazy? The Guild Wars story is crap! I love Guild Wars, simply cuz its free mmo fun at a good quality, but c'mon. The story was so hashed and eventually I started hating it just trying to skip crappy cinematics even if it was the first time i was watching them. I played game right when it came out, the first ascalon storylines are "okay" but soon after the story gets soo forgettable that I don't see how you could understand/enjoy it.
I would like it if they made the story better in the upcoming expansion though. I wish they would just keep expanding on the PVP portion of the game, PVE is good and everything, but they should make PVP bigger, more people, seige weapons, standing bases, battlefieds, more and more of that kind of stuff.
We'll have to wait and see, the new classes didn't exactly get me eager to pre-order.
Everybody is right about guild wars. It is a fun game but it gets boring after a week or two. Personly i wont but the expanision unless the offered something like player killing or some RvR or something that is big not just 8v8 pvp arenas. I also think only getting to lvl 20 is a bad idea becuase once you get there there is nothing to do. I hope they change that so it can be more addicting. Everyone says the game runescape is a bad game but they make millions a month just because there level system and there constant updates and player killing. I hope Guild wars makes the expansion amazing.
Ok I know this is kinda late in the topic to be bringing this up,but the topic starter must have a sucky internet connection.Back when I first got GW,I only had dial up internet.And aol at that.I HARDLY EVER LAGGED.Id maybe lag once every two hours,and that lag may have lasted 2 seconds.Now I have cable internet(7 MBPS punks)and I dont lag ever.so seriously..stop complaining about bugs and lag,cuz it is you.
I think you're missing the whole point of GW. Lvls mean nothing, the fact they bothered to add them in at all is simply so people can tell how difficult monsters are. If your basing your fun on a lvl, then perhaps you should go play a korean MMO where thats all there is to do. And why would you want to kill your own team?
I have NEVER had lag in this game, so if lag really was an issue with the game, then EVERYONE would have horrible lag. Not everyone does, so it's your computer.

GW is one of the few games out there which has few lag issues. There was some lag problems during the beta weekend due to the radical jump in players and the back log of data being downloaded by the new people. This is quite out of the ordinary, but thats what happens when more join than expected.
And for those who are wondering, many play on dialup, and they rarly have any lag issues as it was designed for dialup and higher.
I'm eagerly awaiting the next chapter of GW, the storyling was great for mmorpg standards, and to tell the truth im not much of a PvP player, so this weekend event was not really for me, and yeah i might miss out on some of the action this game was "intended" for, but hey, not monthly fee, and just as much gameplay as with a singleplayer rpg, only now i can play with friends in an awesome graphic enviroment (well maybe not just as much, but good rpg content anyway). I personally can't wait to see what they came up with for the next chapter, i'm buying for sure.
Well I didn't get to play it but I'm excited none the less about the addition of Ritualist and assassin for that matter. Plus a lvl increase. The lag will undoubtly go away before the final release of it. Plus the new armor sets look exciting. It has enough to keep the majority of people happy and excited. It has nothing to do with how experienced you are the point is. If you enjoy it you'll be excited with the new addition or any addition for th matter....... if they didn't "add enough" or add the righ thing to the updates in your opinion, they obviously you weren't all that happy and felt something was missing from the beginning. That's all I have to say about that~
I dont know if anyone else noticed this but i did. The announcement for the factions beta stated "Global free-for-all PVP weekend.
Did anyone see any free-for-all PVP because i didnt. All i saw was the same arenas relocated and you still had to take a team of 4 for random arenas. When i think free-for-all PVP i think of a massive area where its open PVP, none of this 4 on 4 stuff that has gotten to be a redundant cycle of winning a few rounds and then loosing and starting over. Did anyone else have any higher expectations for the PVP system? I was hoping for better AI but that will never change..... but the least i wanted was the beta weekend to be what they said it would be, a Global free-for-all PVP weekend on PVP Isles.
People shouldn't complain about henchmen AI. If they were too good then no one would group together. Your supposed to find other people to group with. Granted a lot of people are worse than the henchies, the point is still to play with other people.
I can understand complaints about how the pvp is the same old point and click system like all the other games, but its still the best system out there due to the countless skill combinations and group dynamics.

i ahve 2 lvl 20 char's a W/Mo and a Mo/R
the game if fun if u play it a while but u get very fast on the max. lvl
