Here is some info for the people who actualy like the game
1)dont play any of the foirgn betas its too close to the US/EU one and you wont want to quit with your toon on that beta
2) lvling is easy. i it takes about one week at the least, of grinding to reach lvl 30 and once you get up to 40 all you'll want to do is pwn otheres in pvp

Besides, the Game hasen't even come out yet, they could be adding new weapons, monsters, and quests so that they can do the update of their website links later.
Don't base this game on how the website links don't work...that's just moronic.
While all of you moan about a game you haven't tried extensively yet, let me remind you that there are 2,000,000 active players in the Asian market. That's a good sign.

Perhaps you should learn to read properly, my emphasis was on Codemasters effort to change the US/EU version from Asian ones, not on the game itself.
And seriously, with all their resources im sure they can somehow get a good website up and running, after all websites are generally a mmorpg's main marketing point.
And like i said, i got more info from unofficial sites.
It seems you missed the point... thats just moronic. :P
I think the website has so little information on it intentionally. There's been the video-game equivalent of a press blackout. Maybe it's just something weird that British game companies do?

Asian gamers like grindfests, that's why all Korean games are made that way. So it's really not as good as you think.
I think grinding IS a good thing so anyone who doesn't have the memory of a goldfish will appreciate accomplishment. PLUS, it keeps all you WoW people away from your insta-0wnage mentality! Stay away from RFO, we don't want you there! If you do waste your money, on the game because you're hoping it'll be like WoW then tough! Live with it!
I'd rather grind in an asian MMoG than get everything handed to me on a plate by a western game. Yes CM can change exp variables etc. but not a lot else and this is a good thing for keeping people as mentioned above the hell away from it. The official forums have a good community, we have a good game in the works, if it's not to your tastes then go and play DDO, WoW or GW - I don't really care just stop trolling on these forums!
I had a good laugh reading trough all these replies here, most of the RF fanbois are so clueless that they fall into insulting instead of any constructive remarks, i also find amusing that people think that codemasters will alter RF online to something completly diferent to the game that has been launched many months ago in South Korea, and several months ago in other asian countries.
Get something straight, codemasters is not the game developer, they are the distributor in charge of marketing and selling the game in Europe and North America, the patches, content, updates, everything is produced by the developer in Korea, Codemaster localizes it to English, as they have been probaly doing for the last few months with all the korean patches sinced the game launched there.
As such, the RF online that will be launched in March will be excatly the same game that South Koreans have been playing for many months now. And by the own admition of the south korean players, this game is a traditional korean mmorpg, with a massive grind and with a complete and uter focus on pvp and equipment, everything else is an aftertought (crafting, quests, roleplaying tools, character diversity).
Go see the pictures of each armor for each class for each race in the game, they are posted on the web, the variation is so small that it makes Super Mario Brothers for the nintendo look good on character diversity. Everyone looks the same, armors look the same, and its pretty much a clone fest.
Now, ask yourselfs "what are the reasons that i want to play this game?", is it the massive grind? is it the mob camping, griefing, bots, low level pking? or is it because its a scifi mmorpg? if you want to play it for the second reason, then you will be sadly disilusioned, this is not scifi, Elves in space using magic is not scifi. The whole story behind the game is completly rediculous as a scifi setting, 3 galactic empires converge on a single planet... to fight on the ground using simple zerg tactics... no space combat, no armored combat, no tactical use of weapons, just zerg zerg zerg. And all of that for a few mines, how quaint.
Want scifi with a good story, good science and a good setting, then play EvE online, or anarchy online. Dont waste your time with Lineage 2 in space but with 1/10th of the production value that went into Lineage 2.
Dunno what the poster above me is on about Codemasters have licenced it, and have made modifications not just localising, depending on its popularity we may see more tweeks in the future. Acording to people who are in the beta leveling up is 2-3 times faster than the korean version, Some have already hit lvl30 after only 2 days.
This childish behavior isn't helping anyone. Look we won't know the full details till post beta whether or not its a grindfest. Perhaps it is perhaps its not perhaps it depends upon the player. The point is who really knows at t his point. Lets just wait and see and you know what let people discover for themselvs how they like the game. Just stop this ranting like a 5 year old in the school yard stuff it's rediculase. For G-d sake it's this is just a web board.
I'm in the P1 Beta that just ended today. I've tested 3 other versions of RFO. Like has been said many many times now. 1 to 30 is a breeze. The game actually tries to rush you through those. So that you may attend the meat and pottato's of the game. Namely the PvP action. 31 to 40 and 41 to 50 though require determination to obtain. The XP rates for those levels is alot slower then what you'll be shown from 1 to 30.
Edit: Kemo i'm not even going to go over your post in detail. I'll just say that currently as the phases of beta go through. CM will be adding the features you see in other version of RFO (the giga updates) into the game gradually. By time RFO goes retail. We should only be an update behind at most. P2 beta is already set to raise cap to 50, add the new ice map, open the auction system, and storage system.
As for the whole armor thing. Sorry but when you have massive 100+ people battles. You can't afford to have 20 versions of an armor that gives basically the same kind of stats. I nearly laughed myself to death when you bought up Eve-Online. If you don't like RFO that's on you. Trying to make it sound like a bad game is where you are wrong at.

Kem0sabe basically hit the nail on the head, although a little one-sided, thats basically what the game pretty much is.
And seriously stop whinging about the slightest critcisim this game takes, all games take criticism, but its like your all in denial or something rofl. Listen to the mature criticisms (if you want), take it on board and think what ya like.
Its always great to get views from all sides on particular games, not just the good ones and what people want to hear, its what people dont want to hear that makes the difference.
People can say whatever the hell they want on a forum as long as its on topic.

For some reason I wanted to cancel my pre-order at gamestop.com but they said they already sent the bonus material (beta-key) and I don't even have that at my inbox yet . Now I'll have to stick with a game I don't want anymore.
Sorry to disagree however, there is a many differences between this game and other Korean MMOs, first of all, this game has innovation in the whole concept of using mechs the way it does. Sure you can use robots in other MMOs like R.O.S.E, however it is not nearly as in-depth as in this particular game.
Hmm.. personally, I'm interested in the game because I like what I've read and seen about it. I like the sort of blend of sci-fi and fantasy.. it's an intriguing combo that I haven't played anything like before, so that has me interested. I like the look of the game. It's got a nice, clean look to it... so I'd like to see that in action. Beyond that I have no expectations or assumptions. I'll go in, see how the game is over the course of some days or weeks... and then come to a conclusion whether I like it enough to keep playing or not.
If it has gameplay similar to L2, then that's fine... grinding, etc... as long as it's entertaining/interesting (to me) at the same time. L2 is heavily grind and gear-centric... a little too gear-centric in my opinion. Would like more options to fill in the price-gaps a bit between different sets... maybe RFO, over time, will address this. I rather like how FFXI handled this. You have your really good gear that's going to cost more money at a given level... but there are always options available that work perfectly well, too, at a much more approachable cost to most players.
Also, what was said earlier is true - they have to be careful about how much variety is on-screen at any one time.. Every single different armor set you see on the battlefield is more memory/resources used up for your system to render it. When you're talking about a game where castle sieges can see dozens of people on-screen at once, along with all the fighting and explosions.. it can bog a system down. Regardless.. I think NC has done extraordinarily well in bringing a great variety of armor to the game. Every piece of armor has a different look depending on what race and/or sex is wearing it. That's alot of variations to deal with. I'm sure they'll do just fine in RFO as well.

Hey Asia, who cares that it looks like L2? Can you come out with something totaly new, that no one has ever seen or done before? If you can please post some drawings that will blow this away. Stop being some asian kid that has every game ever made and just be glad that something new came out for you to grind on. WoW, EQ2, SWG and many more are all grindfests. How can you go wrong with Meches and Hot a$$ elfs? If your mad about grinding let me be the first to welcome you to the world of MMORPG. So go back to WoW and keep farming that Gold if your going to complain about a new game.

For those of you who are about to play this game, look well at the above posters respons, see the 12 year old bastard child of howard stern that hasnt seen daylight in 2 weeks and thinks that playing a female elf in skimpy clothes is the next best thing to geting laid.
People like these are going to be a big part of RF online from what i have seen in many of the replies here.
Concering the "play beta noob, you dont know sh*t" responses, have you played the beta yet? if not, then to put it nicely "STFU" and then come make an informed opinion after you played. This is the same game that was Launched in Korea, and if you think that altering exp values is altering the game content, then your very wrong, Read the agreament between codemasters and the developer, they are not alowed to alter game design or content, they just publish and translate the patches, tweaking xp is about as much as they can do.
The fact that this game has 6 diferent armor for each class depending on level is just a joke, if the game engine cant handle more variation in pvp, then its a very poor piece of coding indeed and is a good example of how the game will develop with such poor programing at its base.

Well, my friend, you think you are very informed about the game, I don't think you are. Some of your points are valid though. I personally have never said that they are going to be making new content for the game. I realize the changes Codemasters can make are limited. But you aren't painting the whole picture.
For one, there are still updates being put in place by the Korean Company (can't remember the name at this point). And there is no reason to suspect there won't be more substantial updates in the future because all of the updates thus far have made big changes. I do agree that if you don't like how the game plays now though, don't buy it, expecting it to change. We just differ on whether or not it is a fun game.
Secondly, saying that the fanbase is all kids that don't know what is going on is extremely off-base. Considering there are maybe 50 or so people that actively check this forum, that is no indication of an entire age group.
You should go to the Codemasters site and look at some of the discussions there. There is actually a very very mature audience for this game. A few more kids have been coming and posting in the last few weeks because they just found this game. But if you look at the core people that are interested in it, it is almost exclusively 17 or older.
Your opinions have some substance to them, but paint a one-sided, narrow view.
And it is clear that you think Korean games are $hit. That is just a personality preference. To assume that everyone should base their view of a game on YOUR likes and dislikes is crazy.
I absolutely agree that this game is not for everyone. And although statements you have made are not entire false, they are not entirely true either.
i.e. You can say FFXI is a game where you have to find 5 other people very close to your level, who don't often cooperate, and spend hours upon hours of playing and disagreeing with them to gain exp. And then once you finally get to a higher level, you have to spend tons of time farming just to afford some of the better gear. Blah blah blah,
Point being, you can make anything sound horrible if you point out the negatives and none of the positives. If you are wondering about this game, just weigh the pros and cons for yourself. If there are more pros, you will probably enjoy it.
I also thought I should point out that there are 21 different armor sets for a Cora Warrior, so I can assume it is the same amount for each specific race and job. Kem0sabe said that there are only 6. 3 of those 21 have different stats, but the same look. So even if you throw those out, you get 18, which is far more than 6, if my math is correct. Get your facts straight.
"play beta noob, you dont know sh*t" responses, have you played the beta yet? if not, then to put it nicely "STFU"
may i inform u that probably most of us DONT play beta and are NOT making the game look bad OR complaining about it in anyway where U seem to figure it out without any ingame expierence complaining about an game
No i have not played beta AND NO i am not complainin about the game already. wich tells different from ur side.

You basically said exactly why I won't give kemo's post any real attention. His obvious hatred for this game and korean MMO's in general. Makes it not even worth it to respond to his post. He's already made up his mind. He doesn't want to hear anyone stating anything different then what he feels is correct.
After reading just two of his post here. I'm honestly starting to doubt. If he's actually played RFO outside. Of one of those many horrible private servers for it. That keep popping up, and then closing just as quickly. Sorry kemo, but if you can't respect others opinions about the game. Then why exactly should we read your post? As for the comment about armor. Please do create a game. Give it as many armor types as you think it should have. Then put 100 to 200 people on screen, and see what happens.
EQ2 has one of the most robust and graphical engines out there. Even with some of the best equipment money can buy. Guess what? You still can't run it at it's full potential with more then 50 people on screen. You seem to think that system resources are infinite. If you ever took the time to understand how games were created. You'd understand that the number of models and texture variations are one of the first things taken into account when you create a game. Hence why the amount of armor models in consoles games is always limited (just look at FFXI). Because the amount of global resources available is limited, and can't all be spent on just shiny new armor textures/models. Even with PC's this is a huge factor as you also have to code the game. For people with less then stellar systems. You of course don't seem to understand that either.

I dont dislike Korean mmorpg´s in general, take archlord for example, milions of lines of text and hundreds of quests. I just dislike the mindless grind games with no content besides killing other people. I understand that others may like that particular game style, but dont expect RF online to deviate from it, thats false hope.
I didnt generalise about the kid issue, i was just shocked by the poster that i quoted, i think you would agree with me that people like those are something we can do well without in mmorpg´s.
About the armor sets, i was not talking about armors with diferent stats, but about visual diference between armors, not just color variations, but actual model variations, if you count them here:

Check RFO at mmosite.com if you don't believe me.

In Peace - Vigilance.
In Death - Sacrifice.
Armors
you will see what point im trying to make
