Do i need both CoV and CoH

I would like to try CoH but do i need to buy CoV also to get all the updates that came with CoV?

Short answer: no.

Long Answer you will need CoV if you want any of the following:

• To create a villain character (obvious I know )
• To build a base for your character(s)
• To enter anyone else's base -- including your SG

Basically bases are completely off limits to anyone without a CoV key reg'd to their account.
If you're in a SG and a base has been built, you will never see it without a CoV key.
That part really sucks, but that's how it is

Updates, graphics tweaks, and pvp zones are across the board and do not require seperate CoV purchase.
