Interested in DDO and beta account..

Ive read a ton of info regarding the upcoming DDO. Reading the reviews on this site have all but intrigued me... i want to purchase this game but before i do that i want to know, will i like it? I usually can base this off of beta testing and/or reviews by the good members of this site and others.. but with this game, i still have yet to get into beta and probably wont.. and the stories here are all to conflicting. "Yes its awesome" "OMG stay away!". Ive been a old D&D fan for some time.. and loved baulders gate and Icewind dale. I dont have the funds to just be throwing 50s and monthly subscriptions to every MMO that turns its head lol. So what im asking is if someone with the "OMG stay away!" mentality that isnt really using their beta account to maybe send the info on to me... id really love to test it out... even for only a bit. I dont actually expect anyone to do this cause i mean, trust issues and all, you dont know me, but i can garentee that i will NOT under any circumstance take advantage of you or the game if you did decide to help me out, that would be just crappy. Im just getting desperate =). Thanks for your time... and have a great week and keep on gaming =D.

ps. Email me at Adamupco@gmail.com if you are indeed interested or know of anyone that would be. =)

Well, its just very different from most other MMOs, and people dont like that. All the quests are instanced, exp is only given at the end of a quest, and most quests need a party to complete. The combat system is interesting as well, as you can aim your weapons anywhere, and swing any time you want, something new to me at least for an MMO is the ability to dodge shots or block them with the block key. Characters can look pretty snazzy if you try to, character customization is pretty interesting and can be pretty diverse if you are into it. Go on gamespot or gamespy or whatnot and look at a review there, they will give you a less emotional and strong opinon about the game. It is very apparent that people are either going to hate or love this game. Id certainly recommend trying this game before you buy, just for that reason.

yeah, thats what i like about it, Im not a fan of DnD PnP, but i love the way the game works, its more of an MMOaction/adventure game with RPG elements than a strict MMORPG. From the forum people looking for a direct translation of DnD to DDO were dissapointed. If you look at it as a seperate entity that simply takes place in a familiar setting, you might enjoy it more.

If you had been here a week ago, you could have tried the public beta, unfortunately i dont think there will be another one of those before launch. I guess all you can hope for is that a friend buys it and you can try it there, or that turbine puts out some kind of trial program at launch.
