Hello every one. I just want to know if any one knows if LA is going to take over the administrations of SWG from SOE, or is there a plan for a SWG 2? I have heard a lot of rumors out on the net about this. I just want to know if there any facts about these rumors. So if any one has news please post them here.

Due to the sheer number of people that bought SWG in some form.
Will there be a SWG2?
Most likely.
What plans are there that have been stated by Lucasarts or whomever?
No plans whatsoever, except that SWG2 is possible. One date mentioned is sometime around 2008-2009. I think that is if they started developing on that date it was mentioned.
If its on the platter to be developed my guess is they are just grinding out design docs, plans, brainstorming and figuring out solutions to problems. And these would be all subject to change.
My plans would involve:
Find the playerbase you want, you want to target the largest section of players as possible. So put things in for everyone. Make it easy to switch too. In Old SWG, you could change professions and if you were already full template, it wasn't very crippling to change a profession to another one, unless you were double crafter to a crafter-combat. But if you were double combat it wasn't hard to switch to another combat. Encourage players of all skill levels to group again.
Easily changeable rulesets. No PvP servers , Limited PvP servs, FULL PvP anywhere anytime servs.
Along with a few other rulesets to cater to different types of players and the like, maybe make some servers more difficult combat wise, mobs are harder but drop better loot. People like flavors, and these would add some flavor, balance would be incredibly difficult though, would definitely want to test and perfect this formula in a different game though, which is the problem with SWG, great idea, and would have been nice to see the gameplay perfected in another game where it would not be limited by IP. IP games have pretty much always gone bust ever since Batman on the original 8bit Nintendo. There are a few games out there that have good controls and gameplay but most were ad hoc'd from another games design.
Job/skill/profession wise: I would have 3 tiers... 1st tier would be basic professions not many of these and simple and sweet, later levels in these basics show you the stuff available in the 2nd tier. 2nd tier professions are the most numerous more than tier 1 and tier 3 combined. any of these professions would take the longest to get through between the time taking to get through tier 1 prof or a tier 3 prof. tier 3 is specialization, maybe slightly more or less than tier 1 depends. This is the most difficult choice this is quest based leveling in part(diverse quests not just kill this and take that, and not too difficult quests, just something that makes the player involved in some form, maybe kill the quest idea completely). Tier 3 is meant to complement the way the player plays. I don't know how to design any profs in this one but I would see how it would develop.
I would also add plans to add a tier 4 at some point, probably something like a superpower based on tier 2 abilties or something.
