After the stealth XP Nerf, though I kept my AAP open I cancelled it to remove SWG from it then reactivated it for EQ2 and PlanetSide. When NGE happened I gave up hope of coming back and cancelled my AAP altogether.

I cancelled before the nge happened due to my frustration over the CU... shortly before it was announced.
Kept it cancelled and uninstalled due to the nge.

Tested the CU before it went live. Quit when they pushed it live way before it was ready and kept killing our points in their forums with rewrites of threads.
Sat, stewed, played City of Heroes, WoW, Saga of Ryzom and a few other things.
Ranger Revamp was promised and details filtered out. I got my discs ready because I was ready to believe again.
NGE and the removal of Rangers. Revamp was a smoke screen.
Never again.
To quote Rick Deckard, "I was quit when I come in here, Bryant, I'm twice as quit now..."
I quit the day they pushed the CU live and all of a sudden, I couldn't wear the armor I had on anymore. My backpack was full so something had to go if I wanted to move from where I was standing. Well, I tell ya, I sat down and logged out. Cancelled both of my accounts on the spot.
The acurate answeer is once I heard MCH would be gone on NGE, so probably even before it went live. I did had a month payed in advance, so I did some testing Pos Disaster with an alternate character on a european server. When I started playing there was no such server, and my friends were already on Lowca, so that as always been my server, untill NGE. Medusa loged once pos NGE but did not respec, called a few of her pets that were still responding to the command, gave them a last hug and travelled to a galaxy far far away, called Limbo.
I was not impressed by the NGE at all, but have to recognise the newbie space area is a lot better then it used to be. I hate the target cursor showing all the time, and I even prefer old Anarchy Online to this new combat system. Never grinded Jedi, only wanted to remain MCH, so testing ended after killing a couple of tusken on tatoine for vehicle parts.
Now I can't help trolling from time to time here, because someone, somewhere, was responsible for my character's death, after remaining loyal to her for so long. Was fun while it lasted, but the feeling that it was a total waste of time because she ended like this is quite annoying.
I like my new Samsung TV, will enjoy Xbox 360 once Oblivion, Bioware and Obsidian titles are out, and there is even a new MMORPG/FPS sci Fi that looks real good, called Huxley, on the way to it, so my lesson for Sony is don't underestimate the negative aspects of your dark side, this was "just a game" but from my part you aren't getting another single $ for any of your products. Such is the power of the force.
*I survived the birth of Malas, but not for long, I survived CU but not NGE*
Note: Removing precious treasures or professions from veteran players and filling games with bugs, makes them travell to new and more atractive worlds. The chances of them returning are lesser then the chances of them remaining if you thought about this is the first place.
I left before the first expansion came out and came back a few months into the CU. I had about 100 badges, a bunch of rewards, and was about a days worth of work away from being a Jedi. All the towns were empty, there were a lot more imperials, couldn't wear my armor, there was space and everyone had several ships (aren't they supposed to be expensive?). When I left, towns were starting to pop up everywhere (I even started one), I had seen one Jedi (great day), doctors were raking in the money and everyone was a master TKA.
I had a master doctor on one server and a master tka on another. I started with my doctor, and with every hospital empty, I switched to my tka. I had no one to kill and didn't need the xp so I went to try out space. Did that for awhile, got into an Imp guild. The guild had no enemies, didn't do PvP... I'm not even sure if there was a rebel guild on the planet. So, I dropped everything and started crafting. But, no one was buying anything. Wasn't too many new players (didn't have the free trial back then) so no one needed any low lvl items. I saw they added POIs so I spent a day or two playing tourist (guess exploration isn't 'Star Warsy').
I thought I was just bored because I had played the game too much when it came out. But after awhile I realized that all the things I had liked about the game had changed -and this was before the NGE. Jedi were everywhere, towns were empty, crafting had started to die out, space was just... not for me. It's a neat distraction, but got old pretty fast. And why does everyone have a ship? Would have been better to keep the shuttles with the reduced waiting time... I dunno. Feels a little cheap. People can't wait a couple minutes. We used to have to wait 10.
The Imps and rebels didn't even seem to hate each other anymore. They just did PvP for the sake of doing PvP. I remember back when people truley hated the other side (never met a rebel that played fair... bunch of children). I stayed an extra two months to set up a guild to kill more of them. That was a big part of the game for me. And PvP battles weren't planned just so you'd have a big enough battle, they were big because there were a lot of people on who just decided to raid a town.
Being saved by Han pissed me off, too. I don't need to feel special and I don't need to be saved by Star Wars characters to know that I'm in the SW universe. I played for about a week and a half. Game just wasn't fun. All that was left was grinding.

That would be "within 2 weeks" since they rushed the damn thing on us that fast.

I played since day 1. After grinding out 23 professions and still no Jedi I ground out the village. Finally I got my jedi. I sit down one day after being Jedi for about 2 weeks. I do a 8 hour grinding session. All alone since I can't be with friends anymore. A BH comes up and starts hammering me. I am so useless he has me in about 3 min. I do the quick math and my 8 hours work is gone. I believe in xp penalties for death but that is sick. I quit. That was all Pre-CU
After bouncing around I come back post CU. The game is a joke. Everyone is jedi. There is no flair to the game. Everyone sits on Dantoonie looking for a group. I decide to make a bh since I never did that before. After doing every thing the forums tell me for weapons, meds etc I go on a 0 for 37 streak against jedi (I am aware I suck at PVP but that was pathetic).
I never made it to NGE. Sounds like I saved some money.

I quit in september of 05' Due to my dislike of the CU , After 2 years and 1 month I had simply grown tired of SWG . But recently i decided to give NGE a shot , I have an active account again .. Yet i still haven't played it yet HAHAH . So i reserve the rest of this post until i do .

I quit when the nge was announced. As a master creature handler the game is useless to me now and a total waste of 2 years building my character. Have they given any explaination as to exactly what i was supposed to do now that my profession no longer even exists?
I dont care if theres 8 new iconic professions , what exactly did they expect me to do?

They hinted that they might add it on as part of another profession later on. You should have waited a year or two.

Smugglers are now more starwarsy and iconic! Like Han Solo had "Chewie" for a pet, you to can now have a corellian butterfly* fight by your side as you face down the evil Imperial Stormtroopers.
* sorry but the corellian butterfly will be the highest level pet that will be allowed due to game play issues.
i quit about 2 months after the CU, it wasnt TOO too bad, it was every ensuing update that made the Jedi more and more OP'd and easier and easier to get to that made me quit. Jedi's ruined SWG.
(i didnt mind when there were like, 4 on the Entire server)

I quit right before the CU. Loved the game even through the bugs and everything but all my pals took off for WoW so like a good little peon I left as well. Brief stop overs in CoH and Matrix Online (which was complete and utter crap) but I still came back to WoW because of the strong community that I was involved in during and before the SWG days.
And I agree that Jedi ruined the game. I'd list all the problems with introducing Jedi but I don't have that much time or inclination. I will say they totally unbalanced PvP combat (no armor was effective against them) and also introducing that many Jedi was totally out of place from the time line between A New Hope and The Empire Strikes Back.

I'm still sad about it. I've not played any other games except a small amount on WoW which I cut after one month's fee.
I'm going to sit and patiently wait for Star Trek Online. and SOE will not get my money again...not in the VCR's DVD players or radios i buy either.
