What to expect from DDO

I've seen alot of people claiming to be dissapointed with DDO. And so here is something to help you adjust any expectations. This is a dev diery that lists all the major features. I would not normally read a dev diery to learn about a game but this one is very consise and follows from what I have experienced in game.

It lists what the game provides and the gameplay focus in a fairly objective (and dry) manner. It is not a review so it will only tell you what to expect, how you evaluate the different features is up to the player.

People don't read up on the games they buy.. We're Americans... We hear something is cool and buy it on impluse, expecting it to meet our every expectation and if it doesn't complain like crazy.

I pity anyone that likes this game reading these forums the first week of release.

    Expect to see...
"What no Druids!?!?!? F U turbine"
"All Instanced? What kinda BS is turbine trying to pull"
    etc etc

Stuff that anyone that took 10mins to read up on the game would know. However, people that do that are the minority.

    Thanks for the URL.

I tried the Euro beta for the first time last night, and its obvious to see these points in action. Im not 100% sure about DDO yet, but I wouldn't immediately write it off.

I personally miss the aspect of exploring the virtual world, which due to the instances doesnt exist. However it is a refreshing change not to have to grind kills out to level up.

    dms...
