The book had a lot of interesting historical ties. True or false these made it an ok read. I just found the writing to be a little too simple for my tastes.
I am going to go ahead and narrow my list to the "Memory of Earth" Series by Orson Scott Card btw. Good mix of Sci-Fi and fantasy. Also a lot of unique ideas and well written characters. I am currently reading book 2.
