Real Life MMO

I guess one day there could be one MMO that could have everything, real jobs, a real home for your sim even join the army to fight in wars, or become a top sportsman etc etc. I have always wondered how far this could be into the future as graphics seem to be improving faster every year, servers handle even more and more players, maybe it could be sooner than we thought.

If there was one game like this what would that mean for us would we get lost and confused about whats real and what only a game, if you have soon the book Otherland by Tad Williams you will know what I mean.

why would you want an mmo like that? That would be the most pointless mmo ever. why play it in a game when you can do it for real in life? I think it would be boring to go and get married in a game and have you wife nagging andd yelling at you all the time. the only good thing is if you kill her in a game there are no real consequences

This exact sequence of posts occurs frequently. "HOW ABOUT A RL MMO?" "THATS BORING STUF"

I played a little bit of the sims online way back when it first came out. It has everything that you mentioned except going into the military.  It was kind of fun for a little. After about 2 weeks it just gets boring. Only because you're doing the same thing over and over every day. If there is going to be a good real life mmorpg in the future, i will definately try it out. The whole point of doing the same thing over and over just gets boring.

I'm sure they'll get around to a military expansion, and everything else under the sun, too. They seem to be trying to cover every lifestyle and event you could possibly imagine. Who knows how far they'll go? Prison life? Down on the farm? Band camp?

I guess because life is different from game. I mean let's be realistic.. not all of us are born with the gift to excel in sports etc.. but a game character, we can train them to be whatever we want.

We get to chance everything in the game without second thought too. I mean the risk to you personally is almost none.

Isnt there already a game like that though? Second Life or something like that.
