A clue to the begiining of the end

I was at Best Buy the other day and was looking at the gaming section and noticed that they no longer sold the swg 60 day game cards. I asked the clerk if they were just out of stock (place joke here) and he told me they no longer carried them. He even told me that they were RTV"d (returned to the vendor). I went to a few other gaming stores in the area and could only find 1 card for sale and it was to be the last one that they were carrying.

Not sure what to make of this but it looks like Sony has stopped production. Im not really sure if that is true but it looks like its done.

If anyone has any info about this please fill us in.

I was at E/b and Compusa the other day, saw a few of them. But they never sold well even before NGE so soe probably didnt order a whole bunch to be made. The majority of people use credit card to pay or cash, other games like MxO stopped making theirs too, hell its even hard to find WoW time cards for me. They like credit cards so they can always have you on file. I wouldnt think much of this, seen it before doesent really mean anything...

I think there is more to this. I asked a Gamestop manager if they carried the card for SWG. He replied that as of February cards would no longer work for SWG. He said it was because the cards were good for SOE products and he was told SWG didnt qualify.

I'd be interested in learning what others have found out. This is the only electronic store around me to check.

    I work at best buy.

SOE wants you to buy the All Access Pass so you can play all of thier games. That is all we sell now for SOE.

That.. and it makes it much easier to cancel SWG. Less pre-paid time = less compensation when cancelled.

    http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=6874689&type=product&id=1093469818049

Note it does NOT say anything about using SWG in it because the company who runs the site is slow to update anything but I have used it. SOE had a big thing on thier site about it.

    Here.

    http://www.station.sony.com/stationaccess/

So in a way. your 90 days goes towards all the games they run (that are included) that have a monthly cost.

50 bucks for 3 months or play, it only works in your favor if you play 2 games or more.

A search of the site for Star Wars on BB.com reveals no game card. Our internal inventory system also shows the card as discontinued. It is SOE that cancelled it. And not for lack of sales. We got an average of 10 per week and sold them in fast order. I have had customers who have told me they are cancelling because they dont want to spend money on an all access card that they will not use.

So in a way SOE screwed the Bantha on this one. Think about the people who did not want to enter thier CC into an online game and used the cards. I know I did, that is before I quit the game.

The all access pass only supports EQ1 Eq2 and PS from what i've read on the Box

SWG was added later and also MxO.  Those boxes are old.

SOE knows what you like... You don't!
And don't forget... I am forcing you to read this!

Yeah they never updated the box art.

And actually following the link would tell you that All Access worked with a Galaxies account image
