Okay I currently play DAoC and love it, and I'm hear to spread the love lol.
This is for anyone who is sceptical about purchasing the game or wondering if the game is right for them. This is the BEST RvR video ever made, after watching this I played the game till 4 A.M. Watch it all the way through, it is truely an amazing video. The only thing it lacks is it never shows any tower seiges, or taking any keeps.

Sorry, but ToA forever ruined DAoC for me
Yes, I know the classic servers are in, but I haven't had any desire to play the game since I quit. Too bad, cause it was my favorite MMO.
Not only are there classic servers which have completely removed ToA from play... ToA on all of the regular servers has been toned down a LOT. It is hardly the timesink and grind it used to be, most encouters require very minimal people now compared to originally and more changes are still planned.

No offense but that RVR looks like it would be better to play than watch, cause watching that video was boring as hell.
Watching like PS or SWG (pre cu 20 vs 20) battles go off is more fun than playing.

Bling is 100% correct. The RvR in DAOC is incredible. DAOC is by far the best MMORPG I have played to date since UO days, and I've played many. Even when SWG was in it's peak, DAOC rules it by ten-fold. Play on the classic server Gareth and you won't be disappointed, just give it a try. You can play for free for 14 days and if you don't like it..no harm caused. DAOC also has the BEST customer support and service out of any of the other MMORPG's that I've witnessed. In fact, every single time I have called Mythic someone has picked up the phone within 2 minutes. (and yes I've timed it)
There are so many options to take in the game and so many classes to choose from that would fit your playing style. The world is just as big as any other MMORPG and in my opinion there is hardly any grind at all. The only levels that go a little slower is between 45-50, but that is expected. I started a Scout from level 1 and leveled him up to 48 now in 4 days of /played time and that INCLUDES stopping off in Thid, Molvik and Leirvik Battlegrounds for some mini RvR action.
When I was first introduced into DAOC I thought the same thing "I don't want to play a game that is 4 years old, I'd rather wait for something new to come out.", but when I gave it a try ..the first day I was hooked. DAOC is awesome.
