I hope someone at SOE reads this

Dear SOE,

I have read about the proposed publish 28 changes and I would have to say I love them. I posted the list of changes on a guild board and the topic has been on fire all morning (I live in the UK if your wondering about time differences). Every single person on that board has said that they would resubscribe to SWG in a second if these changes were implemented. The problem you are going to have at the moment is that people can only vote in your poll if they have a current subscription to the game. You have no other accurate way of gauging how the rest of the gaming community feels. So I urge you, put up a public poll and send out a mailshot to all previous subscribers asking them to vote and I bet you will get a completely different result in that poll to what you are currently getting in the "members only" poll.

The last time SOE went outside the subscriber base for opinions we got the NGE.

But seriously. Why should the remaining (surviving?) player base want item loss incorporated into the game? They've already lost 90% of the game they originally purchased. Decent loot rarely drops. If it does, it's a long-shot that your profession can use it, trade it or ... hell ... even drop it! Hard work can't buy good items because Crafters can't make them. In a world of cookie-cutter professions your personal items are virtually the only way you can feel you've distinguished yourself.

And SOE comes along offering the chance to lose a little bit more ... on a regular basis ... with only SOE developers to stand between you and the griefers, exploiters and bugs? Please. This community is too shell-shocked and dysfunctionl to make that leap of faith.

That being said ... this poll business is nothing more than PR campaign They're just creating false scenarios that they can respond to in order to appear responsive to the community. This is SOE folks. Remember?

well..they tried making an original game.  that didn't work.

 

then they tried cloning EQ2.  that didnt work.

 

then they tried cloning WoW.  that didn't work.

 

no maybe they are gunna try cloning Lineage/Lineage2?     sooner or later somethings gotta give.

The egg-heads at soe won't put up a public poll.  They don't want to see what the public thinks of them or the changes they've implemented.

The only ones allowed to write in are the ones who still pay and many of them eat up everything soe dumps on them.  Therefore, soe only wants to see these write and no one else.  Although not every person who still plays is a "yes" man, many are, hence they're still paying to play.

i still play, because of my PA Mates and mostly because of JTL.

a part of me feels the obligation, as a paying customer, to write in and let them know what a bunch of dipsh1ts they are for what they have done to my beloved Star Wars settings.

but then a part of me says "this game is a lost cause, have fun in space til they close down and hope you can reimbursed for any time you will have paid for"

 

luckily i have a short attention span, which leads me to my point:  and thats why God cries when you touch yourself.

But if you read the all the patch notes it says they are fixing most of the problems with looting (i.e. all armour wearing profs can wear all armour) I know what they promise and what they deliver usually dont match but I'm encouraged by the latest patch notes, they are moving away from this carebear WoW market and targetting all the UO type players
