Returning to Guild Wars, questions for the experienced

Hey there, recently decided I might give Guild Wars another shot. I used to play awhile ago, only thing that kept me going was getting FOW armor ( I think thats what it was called ) for my war.

At the time I had an alt invinci monk amassing gold+ectos as many others did, until that collapsed, and I left shortly afterwards.

I managed to hoard 30 or so ectos, 250 or so platinum and some gold weapons, 15k armor for 3 chars etc etc, I guess what my question is, is there any new forms of lucrative ecto hunting etc around? Ive noticed the price drop in ectos has gone from about 11plat to 8, is 8 the regular price?

And if anyone were so inclined, is there any extreme updates that have been implemented in the last say 3-4 months other than the new expansion.

Looking for a guild as well.

First of all, factions isnt an expantion, its a seperate game, and ecto is about 7.5k now since the tombs were destroyed. Easyest way to make cash now is to farm greens.

altho farming aitn't my style, its good for making money fast (i've hear)

But i still like PvP and do quests all day long!!

I think he was talking about the Sorrows Furnace "Expansion" If not, then the revamp is due to the upcoming Chapter 2.

Many patches and balances have come out since the last time you have played, although you may recall an old PvP build called IWAY (I Will Avange You). It is still an annoyance to this day. As you play(ed) a warrior, you should have no problems fitting in at "Heroes Asecnt" (The new "Tomb of the Primeval Kings")

Since you played last, the Tombs have become a PvE mission, with rare loot if a group is able to finish it. You may find that area a challange if you enjoy PvE.

ectos are at 6.5 plat i think

and btw , having fow armor as a goal is a mistake imo , if you want a pve chalenging goal , try to get all skills for all professions with one single char , changing second profession.

this game is about skills , learn all skills for all professions , and you will fell completeness.

Ectos at 8plat, has been for a while, came up from a low of 7.5. AN has said they want to keep it at a semi stable price as many use it for investing when the cash limit runs out.
