Need help setting up game

I have a buddy key and a copy of the game, but if I click on planetside.exe it tells me to open up through the launchpad, and through the launchpad there's no way to get to planetside. I remember there being a shortcut that opened a planetside version of the launchpad. Can someone who has the game tell me how to get that?

    What happend when you click the exe file?  it should open up a launch pad which then has you log in and then patches teh game.  After it patches a big play button shows up.  If not maybe the installation was bad or look for a launcher withint eh PS folder you installed
