I finally hunted this whole Smed vs PA thing. The guy there deleted the part about the charity stating that he would be going against his own ethics ( not the word used I know, if someone remembers throw that in). So he removed the conversation from the boards. Found some of Smed's responses on the SOE boards. It's just more Smed stating that SOE doen't publisize which charities they contribute to and after he explained this he and the guy from PA came to an understanding and blah blah blah. Correct me if I'm wrong.
Let me elborate on my earlier post. I DO believe that Smed expected a level a professionalism that he did not get. Do I think PA was wrong? No way. It's just another excuse to roast Smed. Who can resist when he gives the material to do so? I DO believe that you can only push a person so many times before they start fighting back. And you have to admit, Smed's been pushed pretty far. But not far enough r. Come one Smed, give us new material...post the server count.
Should he have written the letter and expected it to remain private? Absolutely not. As the president of SOE he should expect that every word he says is up for a good old fashioned tongue lashing. If he did this he would choose his battles and his words carefully. He did not in this case. Why choose a battle that you cannot back up with facts? (Strictly my opinion here.)

Read up on the other Hero's of SOE that are attacking Web sites. It's not just Smed going on the offensive.

Good im glad he is getting what he deserves. All i have to say is the paying customers all expected professionalism and look what they got from SOE, they all god screwed dried. So that old saying goes , What comes around, Goes around. I hope the customers bury this company. Yea i say that even tho its just a game, but its not just a game as it is a service this company was providing and ended up just playing the carrot on a stick game. Ever hear of that other saying, dont bite the hand that feeds you, well they pretty much bit our entire arm off. As said from a great comic gearge carlin, i like bad news i enjoy seeing people under pressure. I enjoy it 10x more hearing its about SOE and SWG.

I didn't say I thought he was right. I also didn't say I did read up on the others who are posting. I guess should have said "Ain't karma a bitch" and left at that. I also find it amusing that they are having to do so much damage control. A lot of this could have been avoided. This is should be under "Customer Service Nigtmares 101" in college. Common sense should have told them this would not be very well recieved. How the hell they all sat around and decided pushing the NGE live like they did and then told us the NGE was a good idea is beyond my scope of comprehension atm.
Not only that but I trying to keep the rant out of my post. I was also TRYING not to be repeat everything I have previously said. As for the other wonders of SOE, they're just digging themselves into a hole. They're in deep over there. Hopefully next week will be as fun this passed week was for them
*pops some popcorn, cozies up on the couch, and waits for the next SOE debacle*
Clearly they are getting desperate, and as Shayde pointed out, are finally realizing, 3 months into it now, that this isn't going to "blow over".
The publish roadmap is very interesting, and certainly the game will be much better than it is now if all that EVER gets implimented.
But they still aren't giving us ANYTHING new in that roadmap, most all of it, aside from a few minor bells and whistles is simply putting back into the game stuff that was there pre-NGE or pre-CU, in a watered down form.

Maybe we should give him a robe and a crystal to pacify the butt-hurt he is feeling.
I'll give him my "Conmemorative Plaque" to make him feel better! LOL
SOE knows what you like... You don't!
And don't forget... I am forcing you to read this!

ROFL! I think I'll give him all my "way super cool Vet reward holo's", so he can have hours of fun staring at them in game like I did.
Thanks again Smed! Hope your butt gets better, mines still healing.
