Possibly coming back to WoW

I quit a couple of months ago, around September I think, I didn't have a problem with the game, sure it had it's problems, but all games do, and I was abit frustrated at times but I still loved it.  I quit because it became my life, I played it non-stop, I wouldn't do anything but play it, so I quit, got more invovled with school activities and everything was great, till a couple of my friends talked about it, they just got into it and they want me to come back,  I would like to but I don't want it to be like last time, has there been alot of changes?  I played a mage last time and I enjoyed it but they were a bit flawed compared to other classes, has there been any major updates?

Dont Waste your time. AQ event is crashing all the server and GMs haven't fixed it in 3 days. Low popluation servers queue for 30 mins. Not worth it
