    Cowboy Bebop, Samurai Champloo, the story episodes of Naruto(filler are utter crap).

    Gungrave..... the art in that is fantastic along with the story and voiceovers.

    .hack/sign even if the story is ridiculous best soundtrack and art done in any anime.....

    Rurouni kenshin/samurai X great character development.

    Outlaw Star. great great atmosphere awesome adult content

    Well I haven't seen any new anime since 1999 but at that time my favourite was battleangel. Project ako was fun as well :)

    Im still going with Ninja Scrolls (movie) even though I have seen basically everything else.

    However I have to give a very special mention to Animatrix Second Renaisance Part I & II AMAZING!!

    I am going to have to say my favorite of ALL is Trigun. It has a perfect mix of action and comedy that suits me well.

    Gankutsuou is my favorite. It's a retelling of the novel "The Count of Monte Cristo" by Alexander Dumas. Check it out.

    For a series its got to be Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex (original and second gig)

    For film its either Princess Mononoke or Appleseed
