Best pvp game out right now?

whats up everyone, im new to the board and was to lazy to do a search but I was wondering what is the best pvp mmorpg game out right now. Im a hardcore pvp type of person, I played Eq 1 on a pvp server it was alright but I heard WoW's pvp system is kinda upsetting so I was wondering about DAoC. Is that game still populated enough to have fun on? thanx in advance

I think you need to decide what you want from PvP. If you want to be able to kill anyone at anytime, then DAOC is probably not for you.

There is 1 low populated fully PvP server. You can play any class and you join alliances. The alliances fight to control relics and keeps. Outside of capitals and housing, you can kill anyone you want as long as they are not part of your alliance.

The rest of the servers (except for the Co-Op server) are what DAOC calls RvR. You pick a realm. You then go into certain zones to fight players on the other realms. You conquer keeps and towers. You have siege weapons to knock holes in keeps, level towers, and bash down doors. You have Battlegrounds which are level specific and a Frontier area where anyone can go. That frontier is usually only level 50.

WoW (not that I am an expert on that game) has two types of servers. The fully PvP server you can go camp enemy towns and kill other players. You cannot conquer the towns or anything like that. Their regular servers, the only PvP is done in Battlegrounds. Battlegrounds have a system set up to limit the number of players. The battles are held in instances. There is no objective. There is no taking towers or sieging keeps. They have such games as "capture the flag."

If you want fully PvP can kill anyone anytime, then you might like the PvP server on DAOC - it is low populated though because most people do not want to be ganked. There is also EVE online or Lineage II for those who want full PvP.

If you can handle "safe" areas then I would suggest you give DAOC a try.

alright thanx, how many expansions would I have to buy to be caught up on the DL's and would it be worth it to start new with the game being so old?? would I be a loner most of my first 30ish lvl's and see no one?? or is there still alot of people playing this game. Or should I wait till another mmorpg comes out with PvP and if so what up and coming games are coming with PvP looking good.

You can buy the Epic Edition for about $20 at most stores. It contains everything released to date. If your only concern is PvP, play on the classic servers (Gareth is the most populated) and you will definately not be alone while you level.
