ive been thinking about getting this game for a while..and i was wondering is it like quick to get to 20? and is it fun along the way or is it grind fest..i really dont want a game to invest all my time into just a game to use when WoW pisses me off with over powered moves (i.e. powerword:sheild and fear) in pvp and is the PVP good??

You can get to level 20 very quickly. I would say: 40-50 hours. However, the content doesn't stop there. A large chunk of it is designed for level 20 characters. So once you reach level 20, you still have plenty to see and do. You do not need to grind those levels by bashing monsters over and over again. You will gain enough XP on just following quests and missions.
For me personally, the PvP is where this game shines. It's balanced (balanced in the number of players in each team, levels, gear and skills), highly competitive, intense and fun. It's the best PvP in any of these types of games I've encountered so far for me.

Playing: Final Fantasy Online: ARR, Destiny
Most memorable games for me: UO, GW1, LoTRO
GW is the best WoW pissed me off or I can't play the server I want game out on the market.
That is GW is an excellent side game... in part because there is no monthly fee. But mostly for the same reason Diablo II still has more players online at one time then 1/2 of the MMO out there. If just a darn good game.
Gw is by far the best pvp i have ever seen however DO NOT buy this game for its roleplaying i find it lacks alot. If your a lover of pvp like me you will still have hours of fun.
Yes I think you should get Gw but if i were you i might wait untill factions comes out or pre=order it and play that. Also there is a lot of content to this game if you play though it and do all the missons.
It sounds like GW is perfect for you.
After two weeks you will have a level 20 character.
Then you can play as casual as you want with all the other elites, or spend horrendous amounts of time tweaking builds, and honing your tactics.
Either way you will have a blast.
At no point did I ever feel like I blew a bunch of time better invested elsewhere in GW......the game is fun as hell.
Just keep in mind this is not a traditional MMO...NCSoft never claimed it was...and it isn't.
Someone with who has played for a month who is smart can beat a dumbass who has played since launch. This is how GW is designed.
Your lvl doesnt matter, youll get to lvl 20 when you need to which is how it was designed, which is a bloody good way to do it.
GW is worth the $$
