Seed: Dev Profile: Lars Kroll Kristensen

Today we have a developer profile interview with Lars Kroll Kristensen, the CEO / President of Runestone Game Development and Producer of Seed.

image MMORPG.com: For those who wish to follow and join the industry, what is your advice?

Lars Kroll Kristensen: Get educated. Become an expert in programming, or 3D art, or sound design. Diversifying is fine, but make sure you’re an expert in something first. We get quite a few unsolicited job applications from people who want to be a game designer or project lead. You do *not* get that kind of job just walking in the door. Game companies need experts who are able and willing to work hard and independently on their own little corner of the game, and at the same time are team players: People that realize that everyone in the company are important, and that they themselves will be a part of that team.

You can read the interview here.

Yay Seed!!! Go Seed!!! Smallish isn't bad, but I can see from a business aspect how they want more interest. If you're a grinder or a hack and slasher, this game is not for you. We do ahve a large and mostly friendly community, sometimes we get grumpy, so read some before you ask questions... we'll answer you anyway but we might be smart@$$es about it. I'm in beta and beta+ so I can say this is goign to be a niche game that will rpobably have some other companies running to try and steal some business from Runestone once it releases.

Yes, it seems to be a really nice game indeed. I too am part of the beta tests and it is indeed a promising game. And as above mentioned the community is nice too.
And the fact that the devs are active on the forums / IRC is imo a big plus too.
