I was bored to tears some other night so I re-installed daoc for the 4th times and started patching the game. To my surprise my account got automaticly re-open for a 10 days trial.
So if you would like to take another look of the game now is the time I guess.
What I like the best now is the way the ML are working and artis. In 4 days ( a few hours a day) I got myself a nice new mount, my champ weapons made circle of 5, bought 6 scrolls ( harpy feather cloak and shield of khaos) for around 1p and leveled my cloak to 5 already (woot).
And its also the reason why I will resub at the end of my 10 days.I left a little while after TOA and re-roll on classic last july. I found myself wandering around at 50 and I was pissed to be missing so much end-game content without TOA but I really didnt enjoy farming for hours for artis.
Anyway im just glad to be back and with the changes, daoc is , again, the king of mmorpg

I dueled one and with my arms last night and god he woop my ass big time !
He was 80% health when he gave me his last stroke lol
Might be because I only have 1 artis tho I dont know.
Friars got love in the most recent patch, 1.82.
Long needed in a lot of people's opinions.
Friars, Wardens, Thanes and the 3 Assassin classes got some love.

1. To call it assassin love is a laugh. The changes to assassins were very minor. The only big change was allowing crtical styles to bypass brittle guards. On the other hand, assassins still have a deminshed role in RvR. MoS has made it nearly impossible to be effective in a zerg. Archers can see you and pop you out of stealth before you can get to targets. Before MoS, assassins provide protection for groups. NPC assassin guards still pop assassins out of stealth. Climbing points are still difficult to find. So, in short, assassins still only camp bridges, docks, and 'other' well traveled areas a solo person might travel. So now instead of taking a 2-3 assassins to take out the caster with brittle guards, one can do it now. Yet until other issues such as MoS are fixed, assassins are a weak class for large scale RvR and people would be better off rolling a Ranger or Scout.
2. Assassins are supposed to kill you in solo battles. That is what they are supposed to do. It is a mistake to assume that every class should be able to kill another one 50% of the time (or whatever % you want to use). Classes have unique abilities. Assassins are supposed to be able to find solo targets, stalk their prey, and then be able to take then out quickly and escape. If a solo target surives or even wins a battle with an assassin it should be very rare.
3. For everytime you die, that assassin probably died 3-5 times just to get to you. There are amany times when assassins need to abandon their prey.

Have to wait 1 week for my new visa card to arrive to re-activate my account.
Damn bank did some changes to online payment whitout any notice of it. had to get one of those new card's whit that chip innstaled in it.
Anything special you did to get those 10 days trial thingy ?My account have been closed since 2004. right after ToA came out.
I had been blaiming goa for my card refusal, and even the bank clercs told me that it was the web site that refused it.After loads of phone calls and e-mail echange i found it was after all my bank messing things up.
Now i have to pay for a new card and wait 1 week for it. damn. was hoping i could start playing right away and buy the expansions online later. Gues il just have to wait and see.
GOA is not Mythic. This is a Mythic promotion and since they are two different companies that is why you did not get it. Further, the come back to camelot campaign does not apply to all former players. They usually have some way of deciding who gets it and who does not. What that is, I have no idea, but last time it was not all players.
face it, if everyone could beat anyone at 1v1, we'd have to all be hitting each other for set damage per swing and all have the same hp, which would be rather boring.
personally, i like the fact that you have that feeling of danger and awareness when in the frontiers, having to be on your guard and all that. adds a lot to the atmosphere of the game, instead of just open field battles and sieges.
